If its one thing that's always annoyed me about AMD cards, Is that everytime I alt time or run window mode games and try to do other things with a game running you'll get crackling/breaking up sound. However, Playing the new alien game full screen this now happens all the time and it's insanely annoying. It was fine the first few hours and now its no longer playable... Any ideas?

Hi Techen,

Sorry to hear of this issue you're having.

Which drivers are you using? I'd recommend 14.9 WHQL.

Are you using vsync?

Did it start out fine then get worse, or is it present all the time? Trying to work out if it's a game issue or a driver one.

I've played the game briefly at 4K maxed out with 4x290X and had no issues with crackling, but i will need to play the game more before i can rule it out completely.

Am using 14.9, No idea if its WHQL?.

Vsync is on.

It was fine today, Played it for awhile. Quit, Went back and now the sound is terrible :(

Crossfire is enabled too, Should it be disabled?

Could even be something completely different. dpc latency issue, from either hardware or driver in the system.
Latencymon is a handle tool at monitoring this. Not played aliens yet will do later, but I can say this I always all-tab out my games and continue to do other things and never had stutter before.

Also note that with the same soundcard, I did not suffer cracking when alt tabbing with my 780TI. But with my 290x and the 295x this is a common problem with me and its something I normally have just got used too.

Is the game stuttery with vsync enabled? Can you try turning it off and see if it fixes the audio crackling problem?

Funny you should say that, The charterers in the game have a twitch in there movement and sometimes theres lines on the screen, Screen tearing I guess.
