Crackling sound Alien: Isolation

Funny you should say that, The charterers in the game have a twitch in there movement and sometimes theres lines on the screen, Screen tearing I guess.

Please try with vsync off Techen when you get a chance and report back.

Before I do anything, Checking my motherboards website am two verisons out of the latest one so it might be possible that its that. I should go update bios first, Retry and report that. Failing that I'll try vsync off however this isn't the only game it happens in so am not entire sure what having vsync off will do? :S

Well did MSI fail at that or what.

Downloaded latest bios drivers for my mobo, Made sure to install it the way I always do from 1.3v to 1.5v. Installed fine, Said complete, Restarted and... Mobo is bricked, Wont boot/display/ LCD mobo screen displays 00.

Time to call MSI and get it replaced it would seem.... Sigh. Funny enough it has a 2nd bios which am on right now but I dont even wanna update it anymore...

...What motherboard is it? and link the download page. Pretty difficult to brick a motherboard these days.

Sent MSI a support ticket, Just got to wait now. See if they'll replace the board. It's a real shame cause I no longer want to update it and I really "want" to as I'd get the best out of my set up. Infact am very tempted to try and get a refund and go for asus lol

Well theres no point now, Stuck at 1.0v bios which is insanely unstable and I can't overclock anything anymore. So annoyed

Download the MSI Flashing Tool >> https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=108079.msg800577#msg800577
  1. Download the latest BIOS and place it on your desktop. Do not decompress.
  2. Download and install the Forum flash tool.
  3. Insert your FAT32 formatted usb stick.
  4. Make sure that all win 8 options are disabled. (Fast Boot etc) Also make sure the legacy USB is enabled.
  5. Start the forum flash tool and select option 1. Then point the tool at the compressed archive we downloaded earlier. Then to your USB Flash Drive.
  6. Boot to the USB from working bios.
  7. Once it booted successfully switch to the bad bios without powering down or rebooting
  8. Now follow the directions and let the tool flash the bad bios.
  9. After flashing reinstall ME drivers in Windows: 10.0.0.1204

Well for some reason it tried to recover on my good biso instead of my bad bios and bricked that. Now there both bricked? Well thanks MSI for those wonderful bios updates. Was fine on 1.3 ugh should have never updated to start with... if msi refuse to replace it as well then out goes a 250 quid mobo

Argh! So you could not try my method?

I'm only using the MSI Z77 MPower, but i've gone through around 20 beta bios, and 8 or so official bios, without any failures.

I just updated mine to the latest BIOS using the MSI Forum Flash tool, but the USB in BIOS always worked as well.
