Im new to ATI so it could be a configuration issue but my 295x2 is giving some really disappointing results compared to my former Titan Black.

I game at 4k and I've actually taken an FPS hit of about 15fps since going to the 295x2.

This is on a clean install Win 8.1 with the below hardware.

4.6ghz 4790k/32gig ram/1tb ssd/1200w corsair psu

There is no issue with temperatures at all either.

Im thinking its the game settings in the CCC but I have removed all anti aliasing and its still bad.

Being speaking with AMD driver development team today. They are aware of a performance issue at 4k with 295 X2, particular in games like BF4. The fix shall come soon! :)

Hopefully that will mean performance improvement for Eyefinity users too, and for crossfire in general rather than just the 295x2 :)

its on all games.

Tried WOW/Diablo/BF4/Titanfall/Skyrim

Across the board im getting worse performance on this 295x2 than I did on my titan black :(

Bought it because I was told it was the dogs danglies performance wise.

Their performance is un-rivalled, that is unquestionable. Your either having a driver issue or Crossfire profile issue. I have mailed this thread to AMD so they can see issues customers are having.

Good point!!

Have you done a clean install of the 14.6 drivers? Uninstall, Detection and removal with Driver fusion and reinstall? This has been a common issue when switching between AMD and nVidia!

thanks, crossfire profile issue?

I have turned crossfire on but not done any profiles.

This is on the latest none beta drivers btw.

Not tried 14.6 or 14.7 yet

I would go with 14.6 first and then look at setting or checking the crossfire profiles for your games.

well this just gets worse........put on both 14.6 and 14.7 and its even worse.

they only see the graphics card as a 290x and therefore even worse performance.

I don't get prompted to apply crossfire nor is crossfire in the drivers.

should have known better than to get an amd card

Did you use DDU to remove drivers first? what are your temps like?
A Titan black is about the same performance as a 780Ti or 290X, so something is definitely amiss somewhere.
What's the powerlimit set to in CCC?

Try running DDU again, make sure your in safe mode, then reinstall the latest drivers.

soldier - yes I used ddu as prescribed and my temps are just fine.

powerlimit is set to +50

a cold boot brought both cards back up but the performance is still really bad. :(

Well there's definitely something wrong there, with BF4 it should blow the TITAN away. Have you tried reseating the card?

As mentioned installing something like 3dmark and running Firestrike to see what score you get would be the quickest way of finding out if your 295x2 is running as it should. Obviously if it's not running as it should in benchmarks it will not run as it should in games.

Running a benchmark isn't going to fix the 15fps loss he's having in games though is it.

Have you got any monitoring software installed to see the VRAM usage?
