I remember as a kid watching him in owe, he truely was a great driver (and a great man by all accounts)

Err, that article is from the future!

Says from the Sunday Times - 16th September and refers to the crash as happening "yesterday"

I wonder if this is a speculative article written in case his death is confirmed and some berk has put it on the website prematurely?

Same here - i remember watching on TV the rally when he used to race.

even beyond his rally peak he was still a legendary driver, the amount of pace he could squeeze out of the skoda rally car in testing, finishing 2nd in an X-Games event despite rolling his car over

this world will miss such raw tallent and entertainment this man brought to motorsport

Looking at the various threads on Pistonheads, Scoobynet, etc is seems various people in both the police and industry are reporting that they've had confirmation it's him

as a sportscar racing fanatic i will remember him most for his attempts on the le mans 24hrs in the Prodrive Ferrari 550 M.

Rallying if anyhting should have been the way he was to go and i can only agree with the coment above.

yep a freind of mine who used to train with collin hasnt been able to get hold of him all day

I'm numb with shock....spent many a night in a dark freezing cold forest at 4am, just to watch Colin flash by.
