**** CRAZIEST PRE-ORDER SPECIAL EVER! MSI GTX 670 POWER EDITION ONLY £199.99 Inc. VAT!!!! *****

So I spent the day, re doing all my watercooling, ready to install this, and its arrived and its even better that I thought :)

Bye all the problems I had with my ATI cards!

oh no, I actually opened mine to a funny smell, like burning electrical components, seems to work ok, but has a very low ASIC value of 61% (not that means much) literally bugger all oc'ing head room that I can see, but it does almost boost to 1150mhz by default so not too bad

Mine had this, I left it in my system for a few hours while I was just downloading something, and now it seems to have gone. Should I be concerned?

What's the low ASIC rating you mention? Do you think it's because something inside is fried?

well I was keen to buy another 670, but I'd need a new 1155 mobo that handles sli - would still be cheaper than a 780 ..but between microstutter worries and probably having to reinstall everything (not strictly necessary for a new mobo, but probably best idea) - I've put myself off :(

I wouldn't worry you have 3 years warranty ;) ASIC is a feature in GPU-Z some people say it means nothing but on previous cards ive had the higher the % the better the oc'r they have been

Ah ok cool, thanks :)

In terms of OC'ing this thing. I guess it does some stuff of it's own accord, but should I be using something like Afterburner to tweak the settings myself?

Interesting. Mine only goes up to 1084(ish) although it says the max is 1136 according to GPU-Z. Might start a thread in the graphics card section to get some assistance on this :)

Thank you very much Overclockers UK for this deal sadly mine only overclocks a measly 50 mghz without touching the voltage :( but hey still much faster than my old 660 ti :)

Yeah I've been reading up a little since posting that, these cards do throttle at 70. I've got a guide to play with, once I have 3 hours to spare I'll give it a go :)

You mean "these cards" as in GTX 670 or these Power Editions? I am certain mine have maintained their boost above 70°. I think it is nearer to 80° that I see them drop back down in 13MHz steps.

Just the 670, rather than specifically the PE. I would have assumed this would be the same for all editions. That said I've had it for such a short amount of time that I've only played games with it rather than eyeballing the monitors for tweaking. That'll come later ;)

I think something is up with mine thought id have another little mess around with some overclocking even 1mhz on the core would crash heaven benchmark, so thought sod it i'll make do, now its not even completing at stock, I came from a titan to this via a few days of using the onboard gpu so not sure what the problem could be, certainly not that my psu etc isn't up to the job, going to do a full windows reinstall just to make sure, oh the joys
