only reason I'm slightly put off is I remember people having these arguments ref the Lightning LEs before they came in.. I'm going to wait for the normal Tri-X to be in stock I think - for sake of 40 quid or so

Welcome. No idea about shipping to the states. Best off asking in customer services section at the top of the forum. Seems like the UK/OcuK prices are a lot cheaper than in America.

Oh yea... 630-750$ for one of these over here. It is crazy. Shipping time isn't too big of a deal, I was just curious. The deal was too amazing. all the AMD prices here are normal compared to the US. Here 270x and up are highly inflated.

I would guess you're looking at about a week or so, but this is just a guess.

Ahh I bit the bullet and ordered 2 to keep me going whilst I send my reference sapphires back under warranty.

Wish i could afford 2, i'll have to get the other one in a few weeks.

1 won't feel like much of an upgrade from a 7970 lightening, though i guess if i can get that sold on i can get a 2nd pretty quick.

that would make no sense ...

why would you put bios on (from reference) at the non overclock

in a factory you'd surely flash once- with the overclocked Tri-X bios

its not like you go in there and tweak the bios and save it like with PC bios - you flash it

This sorta got left unanswered but i would assume its because these cards ARE reference AMD PCB's like most of the other cards, and that they are quality tested (and so need a bios) and put onto a pallet (where-ever the chips and reference PCB's are made), where they will sit until they get shipped.

Then they ship them to various board partners who use a reference PCB with their new cooler design and flash a new bios so they can put 'factory overclocked' on the box.

Seems they will arrive Monday.. Was hoping today but can't complain.
Ordered 2 of these to replace my Faulty 7990.
To be honest id much rather of had the 7990 but it seemed that mining killed it so it had to go back lol.
Reguarding the bios thing...Isn't it just easier to overclock it yourself and leave the bios as it is?

sounds about right

just you'd think putting the cooler on would take 20x longer than a quick bios flash...

although could be separate lines - hence without flash - can get them out quicker - you'd just think it wouldn't be worth their saving in time to sell them "cheaper" so to speak

Does anyone have a good idea what temps to expect on these? Being a miner im pretty sure the only reason my 7990 failed was because of the temps getting too high so im curious what these cards can do temp wise.

Which I see another company is doing a special on with only three units in stock, shall leave them too it as Ive got 200+ and were selling 300+ a week.

its interesting Gibbo - some other companies are listing the same non oc part as yourselves (but at far higher prices) - unless they have the Sapphire part no. incorrect

I'm assuming -00-40G is the OC version and -03-40G is the non OC version ?

have to say I find the Sapphire part no.s quite confusing

thats not the company i was talking about and the oc version is 20 quid cheaper . it is pre order though.

only mentioned it as im looking to buy from oc but i obviously want best deal.
