Cream tea

In my experience, the water's mostly already been poured onto / into the bags / pot. That way the tea starts brewing straight away, and you don't have to wait as long for it to become acceptably strong.

However I've had plenty of tea where they bring the bags in an empty pot and give you the hot water separately. I think it's because some people like very weak tea or to be able to pour themselves.

Having recently been to Devon, on the way home we stopped at Dawlish and nipped into Gays (fnar fnar).

It seems very obvious to me - slice scone in two. Jam on one half, lots of cream on the other, smoosh together, consume (normally two bites, lest anything escapes).

They sell the 'set' of 4 scones, 4 packets of jam and a tub of cream which divides into 4 nice and greedy portions. Thankfully, of the 4 of us, only myself and the 20 month old boy likes scones, so I happily consumed all 4.
