Credit cards. How do you pay yours?

I paid off my credit card in full every month (it does it automatically). I just use it as a buffer, mostly for fuel, travel and Paypal.

I found out that if you're balance is minus, they don't credit your account!

Basically once the amount ive spent hits my internet banking I BT the balance from my current account. I only really use it for electronics as I get a years extra insurance via VISA, over internet for obv reasons and abroad. Never not paid it in full.

on a side issue one of mine has now stopped online debit card payments, how stupid ?

That is incredibly retarded - did they give any reason why? (surely not fraud?)

In answer to the original post.

I pay my card off in full every month, usually about a day after the statement is made up (so before it actually arrives), online.

I automatically pay the minimum by Direct Debit. I then pay more manually up to the full amount. I don't like to pay off the full amount automatically in case I have a sudden expense charged to it that I need to spread out over a couple of months (or move money around to pay off).

Assuming you have a CC and use it, how do you pay? Do pay the minimum payment each month or do you pay off the whole amount owed each month?

Well, that depends on what I'm using the Credit Card for. I have a Credit Card I use for everyday spending, it's paid off monthly but I also have longer term debt that's on a different Credit Card because it offers a very reasonable interest rate on a flexible borrowing. I have a monthly direct debit for the minimum amount and pay off larger sums as and when.

I had a rather large CC debt. At one point it was £5500. Obviously I couldn't pay this off in one go, so I had a DD set up to pay the minimum each month, and when I got to just before payday, any spare cash I had went on it too.

Luckily it is paid off now, which is why I am planning a new gaming rig.

I manage mine via manual payments, just look at what i have bought and send the money across, there is always some money on it but each transaction never reaches 56 days, handy if i bought something big cos at least i can leave it for 3 weeks if i want before i pay it off, so i suppose i use them as a buffer for my current accounts.
