Very true- with mine, it's up to just shy of 80 at the wheel from 67 stock (SV650) but the extra power's basically irrelevant, what makes a huge difference on the road is the delivery, and the curve. With mine, the bike originally choked after peak and the power fell like a stone, which meant shifting up short, now it gets close to peak 1000rpm earlier and stays there til the limiter, which means I can stay in the same gear for longer (I did a lap of knockhill in 3rd and in 5th the other day, just because I can
). I couldn't care less about that extra 20% power really, you just adapt to it.
