Cricket World Cup thread

Total joke this tournaments been from start to finish.

After 2 flippin months of mostly meaningless matches they decide the whole tournament on some shoddy messed up game when in theory they have a reserve day available, why didn't they play a proper 50 over game and finish it tomorrow?

Now a comedy ending telling the Aussies they aint won yet when the suns gone down for the day it hardly coming back out!!!

tbh i would rather watch non-league football than the cricket world cup final (more because of my love for footie than my dislike of cricket though).

LOL they have to come back tomorrow for the last 3 overs
 
Even the moon has gone behind a cloud. It's so dark that the television cameras can't focus on the pitch. Malinga waves hopefully at what might be the final ball of the over, misses and is stumped by Gilchrist, purely by reaction

wow looking out of the studio window you can really see how dark it really is :eek: . Would have been funny to bowl a quick for the last over :eek: :D

Imagine the look on the batsman's face if Ponting had thrown the ball to Tait for the last over. :p

The shot of the moon, the pavilion being all lit up, and especially the stump cam showed just how dark it was.

It was funny seeing the reactions of the presentation party as half of them got loudly booed lol, and that guys speech lasted seemingly forever!

Anyways, congrats to Aus, and thank god this farce is finally over...the ICC have to figure out a way to get it right, and fast!

Indeed it was, terrible tournament by the ICC with half empty grounds due to stupidly high ticket prices along with other problems meant it really wasnt a great tournament that it should have been

Anyways gutted for the Sri Lankans tbh but the way Gilchrist hammered the Sri Lankan bowling was simply amazing, his 149 set up the win for the Aussies tbh. It was an entertaining game despite the rain delays but what killed it off was the lack of light near the end of the game...just didnt make any sense as to why they bothered to come out and play.

Personally i would have just cancelled the game yesterday and played it on the reserve day but these stupid tv companies and their scheduling meant it wasnt going to happen. I think the ICC and Malcolm Speed need to sit down and do some hard thinking because it has been a pretty crap WC tbh.

Anyways as i thought at the start of the WC, the Aussies are 3 time world champs and they thoroughly deserved imho...the way they have been playing during the WC ie dominating all the teams has been nothing short of awesome cricket...says what you like about their arrogance but they pulled it off quite nicely. Im just gutted for the Sri Lankans....at one point i thought they would actually win it as they were cruising along until they lost Jayasuriya and Sangakara.

A good game which was then screwed up by the rain and then the bad light...:(.
