Again

He has been hopeless this series, why is he not dropped is beyond me.

Simple, England believe he's worth carrying for his captaincy. Really not sure myself, he needs to go home and play some cricket for Yorkshire so he's ready for the Test series this summer.

Surely we can use someone else for captaincy, he at the moment is really contributing nothing as a batsmen, it is like playing with a man down.

24-2 Strauss out as well, we are rubbish.

lol shall we just take the openers out of our team and start from Bell and Pietersen cos none of the openers can score anything to save there life!

Useless from Strauss. Now even more pressure on KP and Fred than normal. Really needs something drastic to be done about this top order, it's failing every single match. God I wish we had Tresco, he scored 200 in 30 overs today for Somerset!!

Agree completely, they're saying on TMS that he is useful for his off breaks. Yeah maybe, but Dalrymple is a better bowler and can bat better atm too!!

Dear oh dear Strauss out for 7 now, Tait strikes again...not looking too good for England is it??....24/2 off 6 overs.

Looks like its left yet again to KP to try and save the innings. Perhaps its time they put him at number 2 and bring Vaughan back down lower into the batting order.

Think we should try that as the opening partnership with Vaughan and Strauss coming in at 3 and 4. This is assuming they won't drop either of them, which they won't :(

Cracking quote from Cricinfo "At least Strauss's strike-rate of 70.00 was right up there with England's expectations." :D:D

Made me laugh that one...

8 off Mcgraths first over and they've brought Clarke into the attack. Interesting to see a spinner in so quickly, hopefully KP won't lose it and try and go after him too quickly.

99-2 - Bell and Pieterson are doing what others should have done in the last game, BUILDING AN INNINGS! If these two can stay in for another 15-20 overs then we'll be looking for a decent total i'd hope.

Looks like England are doing a decent job of putting up a big total with KP and Bell doing some damage. As i said a few posts ago the Aussie bowling attack is very susceptible and at the mo the bowlers are getting hit all over the place.

If England want to beat the Aussies then a total of 300 or more is needed tbh.

Ponting dropped KP as well:eek:...not good:(.

Agreed, I'd rate our bowlers higher than the Aussies in terms of depth anyway. If we bowl like we bowled against the Sri Lankans that is definitely the case. The Aussies are really missing Brett Lee I think this tournament. Tait and Bracken are the dangermen, though McGrath is bound to come back and take 4 for 3 now :p

Ripper^ double posts usually annoy me, but you're so right with that one that I'll let you off :D
Edit: BBC up to their usual tricks:

Delerium in the large swimming pool behind the point boundary, where basking England fans celebrate by thrashing the water like mental dolphins.

:D

Can someone remind Flintoff he used to be able to bat! Totally clueless innings from him wouldn't have scored any runs batting with a tree trunk.

Need 270+ to even have a chance, not looking likely atm.

As long as you dont lose your SA English wannabe...KP that is:p, then your ok for the time being plus you Bopara in so should easily get some runs rattled off. I cant really see the Aussies bowling you lot out, McGrath leaks too many runs for my liking..thankfully this will be his last WC as nothings more embarrassing than getting hit for a lot of runs a la Allan Donald when he played his last WC.

Mind you the Aussies are giving way too many extras, very undisciplined bowling from them...16 extras given which shocking tbh.

Still i expect the Aussies to win this one...you need at least 300+ plus..

All out for 247, not nearly enough on that wicket, our bowlers really need to be at 100% today, or they'll knock those runs off in about 40 overs.

Good ton by KP though and about time. :)
