31st over: WICKET - Hasan c Strauss b Panesar 0, Bang 113-8
New batsman Rafique is toast, lollipopping a shot to Strauss at mid-off. Made a bit of a meal of it, Straussy, the little drama queen. Monty now has 2-7 from his four overs.

Struggling to kill em off now, still they managed 250 against the saffas so we're not doing too badly. Bit of perspective though, this pitch suits our bowlers perfectly hard and fast with good bounce, instead of the subcontinentish wickets seen early in the tourney.

No problems from here just another 37 runs required with 6 wickets in hand....glad we didn't need much more than 143 though else we may have been in the doodoo!!

On the plus side it's giving Freddie a chance to get his eye in a bit in a non pressure environment.

edit: or maybe not!! Freddie bowled 110-5.

edit2: oh ooooh Bopara out now 110-6

We made very hard work of that, but at least we didn't lose, but we must improve for the games left in the Super 8.

I see Vaughan has finally found a way to score runs, which is to play ODI as a Test match at a snails pace.

He might be able to get away as a test batsmen by waiting for crap balls but he certainly isnt off ODI standard which requires much more skill and ability.

Englands next game is against SA on the 17th, and that looks likely to be the decider, with the winner going through to the semi's.

. . . can you imagine us chasing down a 350 score if SA get in full flow again?

(maybe if we had 130 overs)

Hmmm another 50-60 runs for Bangladesh and England would have been in serious trouble yesterday. Was very impressed with the Bangladeshi bowlers, they really had England at one point but too many few runs on the board meant they really werent going to win it. I can now see why Vaughan decided to bowl first, imagine England batted first:eek:.
