Crossfire 5770, Not impressed , Am I wrong.

I have just installed 2 x 5770 cards. I had only 1 before. Windows 7 64 bit, Q9550 CPU, 6GB Corsair DDR2 Ram, Asus P5Q Delux Mobo.

I was expecting superb performance but so far I am only getting 32fps on Dirt 2 with the hotfix on 1900x1200 monitor and Crysis Warhead Benchmark is roughly the same. Its not much more than a single. I was expecting a bigger increase in frame rates. Latest ATI 9.12 drivers. Am I doing something wrong?

something is wrong, id suggest rebooting and then check crossfire is enabled in ccc, did you remember to install the bridge between the two cards?

hmm, should rip through crysis benchmark much faster than that, i dont have the warhead one, only origional and at 1650x1050 everything maxxed im getting nearly 50fps average.

Thanks for reply, Yes to both. Bridge connected and x-fire enabled in ccc. I have a XFX 5770 and a Saphire. Oc said it was fine that way.

Just tried the new card with Unique Heaven , Lower frame rates so there is improvement with x fire on unique heaven and my Future Mark score is 16930.

Just games do not seem much better.

It doesn't show dirt 2 but does have crysis, I would check these out see if you get similar gains or not.

Is your PSU good enough for xfire?

Are both cards running in PCIe at 16x?

does GPU-Z confirm that crossfire is enabled? Also do you have catalyst AI enabled in the CCC?

I experienced similar problems with my 5770 CF and it turned out to be the 9.12 hotfix driver so i went back to the original 9.12's and that solved it.

It looks like a driver issue to me, uninstall and install the updated version of 9.12 w/o the hotfix.

mine was doing this untill I enabled catalyst a.i.
no matter what settings dirt 2 wouldnt go over 32 fps.
Now I get 60+ (off the top of my head)
also enable the crossfire logo so so can see ingame that its actually working.

yup, if catalyst ai is off then it reverts to single card operation.

would it be possible caused by the fact that one is running on 16x and one is on 8x....?

Both would be running 8x. And no it shouldnt make that much of a difference.

They don't have to be both on 8x. 16x & x8 is fine.

Something is wrong. I'm getting 30fps at your resolution with a single 5770 on an 8X lane.
