Crossfire 7970

It seems 100% stable the way it is what tests can I do to suggest other wise ? And when I disable ulps with them at stock does it matter that both cards are different clocks at stock?

Sounds about right dude, stop worrying. Worry about stability.

I just ran a comparison. A bit cpu bottlenecked at this low res but with my cpu at 4.8ghz and my 7950's @1125/1500 (about 7970 stock speed maybe a tad faster) i scored 76fps.

First did a single card run, then xfire.

It doesn't matter but imo you should ideally be looking to have your cards running at identical speeds. It sounds like one of your cards cannot handle the clocks. Try to find a happy medium. Aim for 1050/1500 first and ensure both can do that stably. Add more voltage if required. Then work up from there.

Haha thanks Matt I just don't seem to get much luck with pcs so always worrying!

Only things is that 1 card is reference stock which is 950/1200 I think and my other one is msi frozr which is more about 1050/1500 I think this is why I felt forces to bump them both to the maximum speed that my reference could reach so they are both the same but jo mega high. I've ran my reference by its self at this speed and it worked fully stable.

Could the 20% power I'm adding on be an issue ?

What's the make and model of the other card? You need to find out the limits of the worse card then run both your cards at that speed.

The power limit won't be an issue.

Ok brilliant so when would I know wether I need to use the power slide in cc to boost voltage? Should I leave that at 0% first once I found a happy medium?

The power slider does not change the voltage. All it does is allow the card to draw more electricity before it throttles itself to prevent overload. Just put it at +20% and forget about it.

Take a look at this thread for a guide on overclocking your AMD Gpu.

Guys I average 70fps on the hitman benchmark and thats with my CPU not over clocked. Will easily bump to 80-90 so dont know what the big deal is. I also use absolute MAX settings

Sorry man wasn't having a go I was just genuinely surprised that you only got 65 FPS (as you mentioned) with your setup as its pretty beastly! I would have expected something between the 80 - 90 mark.

No need to worry at all though it must just be a really demanding benchmark.

It's an Asus reference 7970 and my other is an msi frozr
Now I've definitely read that you can run my reference at 1125/1575 with the power +20% with full stability.

This is why I came to the conclusion of running both at that speed. I can't increase anymore because that's the maximum my reference goes to

Try running both at 1050/1500 on both cards and see how you get on. Ensure the power line is at +20% for both cards.

Also any chance you could run me threw over clocking my haswell if all goes well tonight? On Skype or something maybe ?

Something about skyping with another man doesn't sit too well with me. :D

I'll leave that one to the CPU boys. They probably know a lot more about Haswell than me as I'm still on Sandy. :)
