Crossfire :(

Afaik it doesn't matter which connector you use. I have mine connected to the left 2. What driver version are you using?

It may just be frame latency, should be a driver coming out the end of next month to fix it.

Just installed 13.6 beta 2 now. this not frame latency this frame rate droping from 120 to 30 just moving camera.

Ok changed map from oman and now seems much better. Going to run heaven and will post results here.

You know what else is happening, when I join a game my mic stops working? :( things just not going well here.

Gpu-z always says the 2nd gpu isn't running as ulps is enabled so it's switched off unless in game.

For BF3, Open txt pad and put this into it:

RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0
RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 1
RenderDevice.VSyncEnable 0

Save it as 'user.cfg'

Drop it straight into your BF3 directory(where BF3.exe is).

If that's not any better, change it to this:

RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0
RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 1
GameTime.MaxVariableFPS 120
RenderDevice.VSyncEnable 0

Thanks Tommy I think disabling the in game Triple buffer is the fix.

These heaven 3.0 results look fine?

1. Disable ULPS. With it enabled gpu's have different usage causing micro stutter sometimes. Gpu 1 usage up at 100% and gpu 2 down at 70-90%. Side effect of zero core. Should be ok if you keep cards at stock, but when you overclock it can cause problems.

2. CPU Bottleneck increases micro stutter, for me. Tested and confirmed by using a much lower cpu frequency.

3. Match gpu clock speeds.

4. If you don't use vsync, leave flip queue size on 3, ie default. Something has changed recently regarding this. I now play with vsync off, don't even use radeon pro at all, leave everything at default. No microstutter, or very little anyway. Adjust flip queue size back to 1 and i get micro stutter. (with vsync off)

If you use vsync try what tommy suggested

RenderDevice.TripleBufferingEnable 0
RenderDevice.ForceRenderAheadLimit 1
GameTime.MaxVariableFPS 120
RenderDevice.VSyncEnable 0

My i7 is running @4.85 now after i found it bottlenecking the gpu's at lower frequencies in bf3. I believe 4.5ghz and higher eliminates most of it, if you have an i7 with HT.

Yep bf3's fake triple buffering has always caused stuttering problems.

You can enable it safely (triple buffering) if you create a bf3 profile in RadeonPro. Disable vsync in game first. If you do it via radeonpro you get no stutter and no input lag, if flip queue is at 1.

Disabling ULPS I have ticked this in Trixx is that all I need to do or is there a windows command?

Something with Crossfire :( I have disabled that and everything is good. Enable it and mic and audio cuts off USB headset.

Bf3 runs horrible on Crossfire and very smooth on one gpu. Starting to think this crossfire was waste of time now.

Very happy with the display though. :(

Ok sound issue I think was down to Driver 13.6 beta 2. Installed driver 13.4 and its worked fine so far.

But!
BF3 I think the issue I getting is Micro stutter Both GPU read 98% and 100% thats good right?

This with both running 900/1375... So what should I do to make bf3 run smooth lol

How come you're not using 2 crossfire bridges?

I'd also overclock your GPUs a bit, I suspect they might have boost BIOSes.

You should managed 1050 with both GPUs no problem.

I should be using two bridges? Thought you just connect the one to one.

Edit
Mic still switches of with crossfire enabled. madness. been running 1000/1500 just turned it down while i try fig out whats going on.

What settings are you using in battlefield 3 with regards to vsync, fps limiters, ULPS, flip queue size, etc?

If you have 1 gpu on 100% that tells me ULPS is not disabled.

Where is the reg edit for ULPS? I will disable it that way because I have removed trixx and now using msi AB but I can't find the ULPS.

BF3 is all High settings
120fps limit
tried flip 1 and 2 and default

Game runs horrible, switch it to single GPU and everything just works including mic and audio.

Why would Crossfire mess up my audio and mic switching them off?

I suspect the audio drivers are somehow messing with your mic in windows. Try doing a driver sweep as per the AMD thread. Reinstall the drivers but choose custom install and untick the HDMI drivers so they don't install. Use 13.6 beta 2 with cap 13.5.

Make sure you're using Beta 10 of afterburner. Disable ULPS is under settings, copy these settings.

You need to restart the pc after ticking disable ULPS.

Are either of your cards boost cards with a stock voltage of 1.25v?

I did driver sweep when switching to 13.4 and using 13.4 cap1
Just found beta AB lol ULPS is now disabled with system restart
My new card is 1.25 other is voltage free. Will that be a reason to anything?

I have matched my older gpu to the new clocks 900/1375 going to try bf3 again now.

Core clock on both cards stayed solid at 900. Both cards how ever where between 75 to 85%

Game seemed much smoother though. Maybe ULPS is the reason, mic still cut out though lol have to back out and disable and re-enable to fix it.

Only BF3 makes this happen.

Will look more at it tomorrow off to work now. Thanks for the help guys.

Atta boy.

I can help further to make battlefield 3 smoother with different configs depending whether you use vsync or not. For me personally i don't need to do anything it just works well as it is, but i don't use vsync and i have ULPS off.

You will never get full usage because of your i5 Shanks. Time to upgrade to an i7.

Dont temp me lol.. I using vsync so the gpu useage will never reach 100% correct?
