Crossfirex issues with 3 Projector set up

I've just tried each cable one at a time on each projector with very strange results. So each test was performed with the HDMI port of the PJ used and connected to the active mini display port connected to the computer.

The first cable showed the green lines on all 3 projectors. The second cable showed the green lines on one projector with the other 2 fine, and the third cable gave a no signal to all three projectors!

I'm now going to repeat the test without active display port and see if there is any different. These cables are all brand new and dont show any signs of damage, so I'm very confused!?!

i have an ocuk 10/15m (cant quite remember) hdmi lead going from a dvi adapter on my gfx card to my amp and i've never had any problems with it so not sure if getting that signal repeater might just be buying a paper weight. not saying you're wrong, just it might not be the cause.

It depends on the equipment connected on each end to whether length is a problem or not.

PS3 connected to my KURO with 5m HDMI = speckling, 5970 connected to my KURO with 5m = no problem but maybe if connected to another TV may = speckling .

Last test done (removing the mini display port)

In the same order, the first cable again shower green images on all projectors. the second one showed perfect images on all 3 (as opposed to 2 perfect 1 s and 1 green one as it was with the display port) and the last cable now displayed a signal, but the picture was mostly green.

Am i right to think that it sounds like a cable issue? Do you think the varying results is due to the different resistance each cable has?

I tried 720p and 24Hz and the green is gone but colour balance is off. What would this imply? Also since Im using the projectors for gaming I wouldnt rlly like to reduce the frequency to 24hz and add latency? Also how come they all work at full whack with oen wire and not the other??

That's true. I have a 20m from my amp to PJ and the issue the OP described sounded similar to what I had before getting the repeater.

But since reading the latest update sounds like dodgy cables, can you not get a good cable (like 2m) that you know works and try across all ports with one PJ and then try each PJ on one port to make sure its a cable issue. Then RMA the dodgy cables.

7 meters is just over 22feet - pretty sure the max reccomended for a digital video signal over DVI/HDMI without booster/repeater is 18 feet.

Also you really really want 60Hz, 24Hz would be very poor for gaming.

I had a mini-HDMI cable 10m that would only allow me to output 30Hz at 1920x1080.

I purchased a HDMI-HDMI cable 10m and used the DVI-HDMI adaptor and that worked and I can output 60Hz with no problem. The cable was much thicker and it says 'High speed HDMI cable with Ethernet' So I guess it is using a much better type of cable then my other one.

So maybe you need a better cable because the ones you have are not up for the job?

I would not risk it with new cables.

I would get a couple of HDMI-Ethernet extenders. You know for sure that Cat5e or Cat6 cable can transfer signal over 7m without any signal lost.
