CRT Monitors

I only realised this morning, new CRT screens would be outlawed by the same EU regulation that banned plasma TVs, so even if some company in China/etc did start producing new screens to fill the void in the market they wouldn't be allowed to export them to Europe.

Guess we will just have to make do with the ever shrinking pool of what's available, we're like the Quaalude addicts of the tech scene

Still blame CRT's for making me slightly short sighted over time.

To be fair, that'd be the case with any monitor. You need to ensure you look at long-distance stuff regularly to exercise the eye muscles properly.

Had a LaCie 24" Electron Blue CRT back in the day, came with a detachable screen hood which I never used lol

Didn't have the heart to throw it out and I still have it lol

Although it hasn't seen the light of day for around 8 years! haha

TFT panels are a lot let stressful on the eyes.

I don't dispute that but continuously looking at an object close to you is known to lead to short-sightedness. If you sat looking at a wall half a metre from your face for hours on end the result would be the same.
