I want to swap the 500GB HDD in my laptop with an SSD. Both of them cost roughly £75. My problem is, I don't know much about SSD's and since they're both around the same price point, I don't know which is "better".

Crucial 240GB M500 or Kingston 240GB V300 SSD?

I've gone for a 240GB+ SSD because it is going to be my systems main drive and I don't want to run into issues with running out of space any time soon. I use the laptop for SWTOR and web surfing.

What's the difference between the M's and the MX? I wouldnt mind picking one up for my super old Macbook from 2006. Ideally if I could get a 256gb one for under £70 I'd be happy

manufacturing process and MX is newer and slightly faster.

it doesn't matter which one if it's for 2006 laptop. but note that m500 is 240GB and MX is 256GB, which is 6.7% bigger. so you better look on price per GB than just the price.
