Current setup: HP Z800 2x 128gb Crucial M4 set in a stripe with LSI Megaraid SAS 9260-4i with battery backup for the cache.

My initial run with Chrystal Disk Mark gave me around 800mb/s read times (I ran this numerous times over a few days as I was amazed how quick it was!). After a few days this has reduced to 525mb/s (the disk did get quite full due to pagefile.sys and hyberfil.sys (turned off pagefile as have lot's of memory, also turned off hibernation)).

I know TRIM doesn't work with virtual drives but ran PerfectDisk_Pro_Trial to zero the unused space (70% of drive at present) to no avail.

I've updated the LSI firmware since the initial run and at the time of the initial test the battery apparently wasn't fully charged...

I've tried taking the battery out but actually get the same results as when it is in.

I do occasionally get high temp warnings so will leave it off overnight and try again tomorrow.

Firmware of the Crucial M4 128gb drives can be updated, not had time to do that yet.

Have also logged this with LSI...

Am I making any school boy errors on this?

Running benchmarks over and over will degrade a ssd. I would say it needs to recover and only run one benchmark to check all is ok.

just realised I'm getting the same speeds as I was without the controller!!!! Will upgrade the firmware and test again.
LSI were pretty quick at getting back to me with advise.
