Hmmm, i was thinking of getting the Plextor m6 pro whenever they come out, but these seem quite good.

Last week I almost ordered a Samsung 840 EVO 256Gb drive as an addition to my current Crucial M4 256Gb drive. So glad I postponed until pay day. This is now on the cards...

wont be getting a samsung but will be most likely getting this

dunno whether to go 2-3 256GB drives in raid 0 or 1-2 512s?

what are the negatives of too many drives in raid? access time?

Yeah same principle as sd cards
I don't think everything improves on size tho. Just most things

Raid 512gb drives would be ideal but I might actually never fill that
And probably wouldn't buy 2 at same time
Raid 256 is what I would buy now

they use more nand chips for the larger the size drive hence the slightly faster speeds,but just get whats in budget

Unless you're doing a lot of large file transfers or playing games that have lots of maps to load, then you wont notice much difference in the real world.

Psychologically speaking however, its a massive difference.

Just received my drive.

It comes with a free OEM licence for Acronis True Image HD 2014.

The download code for Acronis is on a slip of paper underneath the internal packaging tray. Easily missed unless you are looking for it, especially as there is no mention of it on the box at all.

Thanks i have added this info to the module for the drives.
