it is a stonking deal. I got a 256 samsung myself and seeing this is tempting. as having a big drive is far more preferential to me than having lots of drives.
 
Ooh, if it was £25 cheaper, I'd consider changing my 2 samsungs to this, but the price match and free USB kept me with the sammies :D

amazing offer, good to see the 512GB SSDs coming down to more accessible levels. I have been tempted by the 256GB drives but I'm glad I waited because I think a 512 would keep me set for much longer.
 
I think the basis is NAND pricing but it's also to do with some of the manufacturer's trying to weed out the SSD market and I would also imagine in an attempt to capitalise on the high HDD prices which look set to continue for quite a while. Personally I've only bought SSDs since the HDD prices went up and it's a bonus that the prices are really nice now.
