rjkoneill can you offer any insight into the current price reductions on SSDs, I do realise it's based on NAND pricing but do you know if it's because they are using some kind of cheaper die-shrunk chips on the latest shipped drives or is it just purely a reflection of a general drop in price of NAND.

According to OCUK a few weeks back there were going to be no further reductions in price for a long time. I believe this was when the 128gb were selling for £150 :D

So take anything with a pinch of salt ;)

yeah, I remember asking about the 512GB specifically and was told (as I sort of expected) that the 512GB weren't going to be dropping in line with the 64/128/256 drives but I'm not planning to buy my SSD yet so it's nice to see the price on the 512GB drives dropping too as it might mean I can opt for a 512 over a 256 when the time comes

tbh
i dont know much about it as it is not my group

i am just taking care of it whilst AM is away.

im sorry but I am not seeing a £50 difference at any of our competition.

I have dropped another £10 off the price to match our closed direct competitor on Google shopping.

It was available at posting for £283.xx at a competitor using a 10% code which was freely and still is freely available and not a misprice etc. You can find it on a certain "hot" uk deals site if you get me.

Anyway, still a good price just saying....:)

SSD's just keep getting more and more affordable, now I can compare this to my 500GB HDD as an actual replacement rather than just an OS drive, and see how the prices are just dropping and dropping recently.
