This feral hog eradication program is funded by a group of farmers who are taking progressive action to reduce the devastation done to their crops by these animals. Each and every feral hog is estimated to cause $1400 in crop damage during its lifetime. As you can see this data in combination with the extraordinarily high and ever expanding hog population proves to be a very big problem. Through the support of the farmers of Haskell Co. and the efforts of Nueces Helicopters, LLC. the hog population is on its way to a more controllable state as well as a much higher crop yield for the farmers.

Shooting a large Hog running in an open field with an M4 from a helicopter is hardly awesome - Fair enough they have to do it as it's costing them lots of money but recording it as if they are doing some kind of epic action film is quite pathetic.

they are living creatures afterall that have every right to try and survive as we do

Cruel for the fact barely any of the hogs killed will be as a result of a clean shot ( i am a hunter myself).

Although, in general, shooting from a heli is cool :D

p.s., tank, i find it funny that the smiley in your sig is unhappy about christmas but is wearing a christmas hat. OH THE IRONY xD

Take one down naked, mano a mano, armed with nothing but a bowie knife and a Spartan's fighting spirit, and I will respect you.

Not cool.

I'm all for hunting to control numbers, but I'd rather it was done peacefully stalked and shot from a distance rather than dicking around in a helicopter with all the camo gear/M4's.

Their last few moments of life must be terrifying, that isn't how we should dispatch of animals.

+1

Then there is the ensuing pain as they slowly die.

What I don't understand is why they don't just hover a little way away and shoot, far more accurate but I guess it wouldn't be as "fun"... :(

They're yanks no erection means no fun, I'm surprised there isn't music being played loudly like in the film Apocalypse Now.

Hahaha.

If they were playing Fortunate Son at full vol. and there was a guy wearing a bandana with an M60, saying it was "just like ****ing Saigon" it would be epic.

Stalk them? Did you see how many there was, and you want them to go after each bloody pig individually? It'd take days to do the same work you can do in a few hours in the chopper.

This will be more up your street:

Pretty horrible way of doing it, best way I can imagine it for us is: Being chased around by a elephant sized wasp which could fire its stinger, scary!

The guy seems to have a good shot, the pilot was getting him nice and close though. Does seem like the most efficient way of doing it, trying to think of some alternatives, but it is not like it matters what I think :D
