Crysis 2 is another console port, no DX11!!!!

Couldn't agree more. It's all well and good for you people out there with money to burn ... your 6 core cpu's your 3 x dual gpu cards etc.

Erm... when Far Cry came out I remember people bitching about performance even with the latest hardware on the market back then.

Most people can't afford to keep upgrading their computers everytime a new Crytek game comes out! I remember when FarCry first came out, it ran dreadfully on my pc, only when I upgraded a couple of years or so later and went back to it, could I play it at a decent frame rate and enjoy its fully beauty.

So do I but I really don't get why make a game that requires such crazy fast hardware that doesn't even exist until years after the game.

It's like buying a PS3 but it can't play blu-ray discs yet. Not an exact like for like but the same thing applies, you can't play it.

Its not going to be in DX11 (although it will be as a patch)... who cares! Gameplay is what im after..... why is COD still using the same old engine... it looks good and runs well, so why bother change it!

I was thinking that. Isn't the whole purpose of buying games is for you to play them? not to have a slideshow then 2 years later you can play it at an acceptable frame rate? I'm not talking about Crysis 2 just their past motto for making games.

Some PC gamers have become complete utter snobs? or as the term from some people... "don't be a graphic whore"

To say you're not going to buy Crysis 2 just because it's not coming out with DX11 is just sad ;)

It would be funnier if on release day you can't login to play online. ¬_¬ Like me!

It is really not sad. I refuse to support a company that is taking the market backwards rather than forwards.

Uh, what? He's sticking up for everyone who has a good rig!

ah my bad

Exactly! Im not taking the pee out of people who spend out huge amounts of cash on a card, i did the same about 3/4 years ago, £400+ i was spending on gfx hardware, im just saying i would feel a mug if i had paid out for such luxuries only to be given a product that an old £45 second hand card can run "visually" just as well.

Stick to consoles m8. Leave PC gaming to those that appreciate advancement in games, graphically and gameplay wise.

Err, is it just me who remembers that the first two Crysis games also had terrible multiplayer?

Single player is a whole different beast. It will look better, run better and won't be a CoD clone.

We play Crysis for it's single player. Leave multiplayer to Battlefield.

Actually single player sucks as much as multi going by accounts of those that played the leaked beat, very linear and a bit of a bore.

What advancements in gameplay has the PC seen in recent years exactly? To me it seems that consoles have been innovating far more over recent years.

Lies! give us examples of consoles innovation over pc? I was a console gamer for many years and switched around 9 months ago due to how bored i was with same old same old!

Played the game for one round, and I wasn't too impressed tbh. Felt an awful lot like a CoD rip off (I detest CoD personally) and the graphics were not as revolutionary as I was expecting. It pretty much lost my respect when it said "Press Start" at the first screen

actually creativity in games have dried out a long time ago. to me the most innovating thing happened in recent years is the wii and smartphone (ipod, ipad) games

there are very few wii games that are more than just complete rubbish and rushed out with no thought actually put into the control system. its mainly a case of just waving your arms like an idiot half the time. smartphones are mostly 1.99 crap that has almost next to no replay value and again with pretty awful touch screen controls, aot of them even use buttons on the screen which is even worse

consoles are holding pc gaming back

I play games at 1024x768 resolutions. (Mind my res:p as I will be upgrading to a full HD 24" monitor in near future)

Any way just tried the crysis2 demo and oh man!!. What a difference from original crysis.

-For once it is too blurry even though I am on hardcore settings:p.
- I generally couldn't tell who the enemy was as their costume looks so similar.
- Graphics definitely seemed console based as the original crysis had sharper/ thicker/rich/realistic graphics.
- Why there is aim assistance option in the 'PC version'. I thought that was mainly reserved for console gamepads:confused:
-Basically when playing, nothing seemed clear as everything seemed to be so blurry/foggy and it seemd as if you were operating in another dimension. Quite different from CS Source. :(

at least the wii and phone game used a new interface. everything else its up to the developers to make them good.

i failed to see how a masses of fps, rts, and grinding mmo clones using the same control and interface for the last 20 years be creative, or at least tried to make a effort to be creative.

Aim assist? AIM ASSIST???

Might as well say in huge letters on the box

CONSOLE PORT! AVOID AVOID AVOID

Enemies (until you shoot them) don't have any names/HUD identifiers. Your team has a blue triangle/their names in blue text floating above their heads.

Utterly mad the option exists, but I've never noticed it affect the game. Someone on another forum suggested that it only actually makes a difference if you're using a joypad. Needs to be removed though.

Yeah I managed to figure this out. They have sort of copied CS Source in that if one of your team member sees an enemy then the enemy appears as a red dot on the map briefly helping you to guess where the enemy is generally located in that time frame.

However what I meant was that sometimes the enemy passed right next to you and since I found the graphics to be blurry/condescending I didn't have the reaction time to take him down by which mine got killed, unlike in cs source.

It's for gamepads only, in all fairness, a fair few PC Gamers use pads to play FPS', i don't know why they use pads, but they do.

I know but come on how many people that play these type of games on pc really use a pad? I have yet to meet a pc gamer that plays the likes of cod4 / BC2 ect that uses a pad because they would constantly get murdered vs anyone with a mouse / keyboard combo.

Pads are great for fighting & racing games and even others but never FPS :)
