Crysis 2 is another console port, no DX11!!!!

I've been trawling for more on this subject and the whole thing is still a rumour. Found this:

http://www.pcgameshardware.de/aid,814434/Crysis-2-Das-Mysterium-DirectX-11/Action-Spiel/News/

The line: "Our assumption was, therefore, that a day 1 patch furnish the DX11 DX10 interface with a fallback." A bit garbled from Translate but 'Assumption' sums the entire affair up nicely.
Would it be beyond reason that Crytek released the same Demo for all platforms to placate the growing risk of more torrenting of the leaked game? It would explain the console format of the demo.

I'm just wondering out loud here but it seems absurd that Crytek would release to DX9 only - and I haven't found any word from them that confirms this; tracing the entire thing back to that Swedish website...

Also, Nvidia are backing the game:
http://www.pcgameshardware.de/aid,813765/Crysis-2-Nvidia-deklariert-Cryengine-3-Titel-eindeutig-als-DirectX-11-Spiel/Action-Spiel/News/

Going through the other Crysis 2 articles on the site it seems that DirectX 11 at launch is still possible - this is another quote from one of the articles on the same subject: "finally Nvidia DirectX 11 for Crysis 2 virtually confirmed" (26th Feb)

I'm not giving up on the game yet.

They are meant to make a annoucement next week about it according to Incrysis forums... Hope they do I'm hoping it has dx 11 support..

Don't know why there's so much blood vessel bursting going on here, I suppose it happens with every new game. You'll still buy it...

Personally I think it looks really good. It copies its previous formula (nano suit) and uses ideas from a few different games for multiplayer (which is essentially what this game is caterering for, just like most FPS releases) to produce an identity of its own. I like the locations too.

I might even buy it.

It basically copies COD, thats not using a few ideas.

downloaded and tried it (just) good GFx @ 2560x1440 on "hardcore" GFX. 33-40 Frames avg I'd say.

Its only really using one GFX card though (More or less) 99%% usage on one, 12% on second card (Geforce GTX 480 SLI). DX9 is it?, looks better than DX9 (probaly my high resolution?

Oh noes, the graphics. Lets not focus on the fact that this plays like a bad COD clone, but instead lets moan about graphics that look amazing in DX9. And you lot call the console gamers derps lol.

Here's me thinking you couldn't jump thirty foot in the air and take out 3 guys using an ability from the nano suit(in CoD)... or cloak (like Halo and Team Fortress 1 and 2) to take people out(in CoD)...etc... etc...

Why is there always someone who likes to hammer a game and come out with nonsensical arguments to put a game down, even before it's been released. Stupid.

The Cryengine 3 video is stunning. The scene where the character is walking in some woods

I'd love a Heavy Rain style game looking that good.

Not too bothered its a dx9 only, I want good gamepley and not a gfx that computers in 2 years time will play well.
Couldn't agree more. It's all well and good for you people out there with money to burn ... your 6 core cpu's your 3 x dual gpu cards etc. Most people can't afford to keep upgrading their computers everytime a new Crytek game comes out! I remember when FarCry first came out, it ran dreadfully on my pc, only when I upgraded a couple of years or so later and went back to it, could I play it at a decent frame rate and enjoy its fully beauty.

Its not going to be in DX11 (although it will be as a patch)... who cares! Gameplay is what im after..... why is COD still using the same old engine... it looks good and runs well, so why bother change it!

To say you're not going to buy Crysis 2 just because it's not coming out with DX11 is just sad ;)

It sells graphics cards and other components, but mainly graphics cards which is another form of income for the developers whether they recycle an engine or not.

Checkout the ads on games "works best with Nvidia... works best with Intel i7..." etc. which is obviously a load of bull****.
