Absolutely freaking loved Crysis and Warhead, so this is good news, i just hope Crytek stay true to there word and dont restrict the game because of consoles. Similar to how Valve make there games, ya know ?

Course they are not screenshots of the game, so its gong to look much worse than that, as remember all those Crysis screenshots that were being bandied about, pmsl, game came out looked nowt like them, was a pure classic, also those hilarious jungle vids

I don't see a date in the quote for the release of crysis 2. Wouldn't the next gen consoles be due this winter or next anyway?

I enjoyed both the crysis games, although i liked warhead more. Personally i want less alien levels, and fingers crossed that the graphics dont suffer to accommodate the console market.

Does it hell look like that, ive just put it on, all very high Dx10, looked from high up over the sea to some mountains over the other side like in that top shot, and it looks nowt like it, nowhere near as detailed.

Yea it looks even more detailed - seeing as the reference shot you've posted don't even have trees or buildings. Stop trolling Crysis threads. I have seen you consistently show up and behave like this whenever Crysis comes up on topic. It's irritating.

Im not trolling, imo all those early shots and vids that were doing the rounds look nothing like it, everyone was even saying that when the game finally came out, so i don't know whats changed, unless they've updated it now, in which case ill apologise, as i didn't know.

Why are most people jumping to the conclusion that beacuse its coming out on 360 and PS3 that it will definitely look awful.
Yes it is going to look worse on the consoles than Crysis does, that's to be expected, but developing for consoles is also likely to mean the game can run better on low settings for low end people.
Anyone who believes Crytek will release a PC game that looks worse than Crysis/Warhead is just being silly tbh..

It will look worse than Crysis if its coming out on the consoles, as didn't Crytek say the consoles couldn't handle Crysis, so if does look better than that, then they lied.

Just got to see how they port it across to the PC, just hope they don't do a Rockstar. :/

I'm fairly gutted.

I don't mind most games coming out on console, but not Crysis. The entire point of Crysis was an insane game which took a monster rig to run but looked amazing.

I hope that it still scales to the level of Crysis or even higher but I seriously doubt it.

Uh... no. I believe Sony wanted to carry the PS3 on until 2014, although I bet they'll be ready by 2011, just incase Microsoft release a new console. Heck, the slim PS3 has only just come around in rumours, so I doubt PS4 would be out this year.

Also, they better not dumb the PC game down for consoles. I'm all for them bringing it to consoles, as long as it's a PC shooter ported to consoles, not a console shooter ported to PC. At least keep the PC graphics above console par.
