it doesnt work like that mate.in order for crysis 2 to run on consoles with graphics on par with games like killzone 2 and resident evil 5 the game needs to be scaled down. you cant just turn features off. no more huge environments. the only way for crysis to be graphically superior to crysis is to be a completely different game compared to the console version. crytek wont do that for sure. crysis 2 will be dumbed down 100%

Typical crysis, all about the visuals. I very much doubt it will look worse then Crysis, tehy are too in to making pretty games.

The whole point of Crysis 2 is to basicaly go look we haev the prettiest game on consol and pc. go us.

Also saying it will look better than the previous game is a blind faced lie and he knows it. Would love to see the ps3 and 360 try and run the textures used in the original 2 games.

In fact i'm sure i read somewhere it will be similar to medium settings on consoles.

Just wondering what people didn't like about Crysis's gameplay?
I thought all the nanosuit powers enabled some really fun and creative gameplay :cool:

short story because all they cared about was how it looked. Good mechanics, needed working. terrible optimization and gennearly the devs lied a lot about things. But yeah i agree, its defo got potential. But i also agree going to consols is definitly a step in the other direction.
 
See that's another thing that I don't understand. How can people say it has terrible optimisation when it has/had the best graphics of any game to date? If it was any other dev, Im sure all those effects would have created a much more sluggish experience.

I do understand how people can be angry about the devs lieing however. Though I did not read any lies myself as far as I remember.
 
i don;t think it was unoptimized. I mean it's been out 2 years and still looks better than any game released thus far. In fact, I wouldnt be surprised if we didnt see a better looking game until the new generation of consoles are out.
 
If you want an unoptimized game look at Cryostasis. Crysis is optimized, it just needs some heavy GPU power.

Im sure most people who say its unoptimized only say it because there expensive GPU cant max it out. Boo freakin who. Also, what the hell do you know about the technical workings of the engine ? And what game out there looks even remotely as detailed as Crysis and performs better ?
 
Crysis Warhead with extreme mod (shadows a lot darker) 1900*1200 x2AA with 2x4890 crossfire, play super smooth. One of the best fps shooters ive ever played just for pure choice .....i sit in cloak mode planning my attack on a massive base ....plant some mines ...divert attention..kill 'em before they know whats hit em' .Great fun.

Ive always felt Crysis was abit like Concorde, we hit the pinnacle of technology but due to other factors (economic, political etc) we have gone down hill since.
 
Id class it as a singleplayer game anyways, its awful online.

Tbh i wouldnt say cod4 is amazing...infact id say it just average in a sense.
imo its just the fact that they havnt done anything bad or half assed.

Tis one of the best games today though:D
