Crysis on PS3 and 360 confirmed, announced with trailer

PC powerhouse comes to console next month

EA has put out a Crysis trailer announcing that the PC powerhouse of 2007 is coming to PS3 and 360 next month.

The possibility of such an announcement has been sitting at the back of gamers' minds since July, when the South Korea Game Rating Board approved Crysis for release on Microsoft's console.

The US ratings board put its own report on the Crysis remake soon after, suggesting that it was also coming to PS3.

It's all official now and the trailer that makes it so is made up entirely of Xbox 360 footage, although it does end specifically mentioning "consoles", not a particular platform.

It also promises brand new features for consoles including all new lighting, new effects and new Nanosuit controls.

Crysis was well ahead of its time when it arrived on PC four years ago and, if the trailer is anything to go by, it'll do more than hold up on today's consoles.

Have a look and see for yourself:

If it looks that good and plays that smoothly, I could be very interested. I always liked Crysis, and I really enjoyed how surreal and atmospheric it was when the aliens broke out as well. Remember being sat there with a proper case of the "WTF"s!

If they tack of a GOOD multiplayer, and possibly include Warhead, it could be a winner :)

Engine being re-optimised to run on console hardwear could also be a blessing. The ability to unify the coding to run on one set of architecture can only help them make it run smoothly.

Who wants to play a four year old game at this point when so many new games are coming out on consoles?

Because in comparison to so much of the console FPS fluff that is being churned out *cough*COD*cough* like it's the new FIFA, Crysis, a 4 year old game, is still considerably better.

Was just coming on here to post this, here's the trailer anyway

I loved Crysis 2, one of the best games I've played this year so personally I'm looking forward to giving the first a go again (I had it for the PC but never got into it, thinking it might be different now as it took a while for me to get into Crysis 2 as well)

I disagree. COD isn't just churned out. Why changed the game 100% when COD4 was so good? They simply just make each version after that better. I enjoyed MW1 more than COD4. I enjoyed MW2 more than MW1. I even enjoyed BO more than MW2.

WaW was also really good.

I would agree single player wise.
MP got worse though

The only things I didn't like about the MP was the dual pirate guns and constant barrage of air strikes. Shooting in those games is so satisfying though. Hearing the noise when you hit then kill someone is like soo good.

Then theres random annoying things like this that happen in pretty much every game. :p:D

rage quit.

Uuuuhhhhhhhhhhhh............?

Strange huh. Even though I put more time into COD4, I enjoyed the weapons and feel of MW1 more. Don't get me wrong, the margin between my enjoyment of these two games isn't much.

Only thing I miss about COD4 is the servers and longer games. I really enjoyed playing games that would go on for a good hour on 1 map. You really get to know everyone and its way more fun that way.
