Crysis coming to Xbox 360 & PS3 Oct 2011

Wow! Thank you CRYTEK! After the dissapointment that was Crysis 2, it's amazing to get back to the first game. They've done a great job getting it running on the PS3, although a bit too much motion blur for my liking, it takes me right back to 2007. Loved it then, and it's not lost any of its appeal now (for me at least).

Buy it!

I am massively impressed by this port! Some serious effort has gone into this!

Playing through on Delta and one thing is still apparent.. the Amazing AI.

Gonna be a hard game me thinks but defo worth the 15 quid!

surprised about how excited people are right now, downloaded it last night, and I must admit I am disappointed. played it numerous times on the PC (with some sick settings!) and there are a number of problems for me and the Xbox 360 version. first the foliage pop-up is accompanied by a weird 'blurring' kind of effect just as the pop-up is about to occur, there is a random laser pointer that appears coming from my weapon (which doesn't have one!) at certain points in the level, some peculiar audio glitches where enemies who are miles away sound like they are standing right next to me. further more its too bright, like really really bright! even by Crysis standards and there appears to be almost no difference between out in the open and under the 'canopy' of trees, where the difference was very pronounced on the PC. so not sure what to make of it at the moment to be honest! ;)

Decided to get this seeing as it's reletavily cheap, early impressions are that it definitely feels like it's been optimised for consoles, graphics are good although there is the odd hint of foliage pop up and some times it looks like there's a masked predator in the scenery before the rest of the textures load but nothing massive.

Still only early in the game so slogging through the bits that put me off playing it through on the PC as it stands though I still don't think it's a patch on Crysis 2 but it'll keep me busy until the influx of titles at the end of the month i hope :)

I fully completed it now even on Delta & have to say it looks as good as the PC version if not better in places which is very surprising. As it uses the Crysis2 game engine the HDR lighting is a big improvement & apart from some low res textures it looks amazing to stunning in many places considering the dated hardware its running on. The popup is usually in the extreme distance in the background if your not looking for it hard to notice.

Delta AI is much harder than PC version you need to constantly use the suit stealth & hide in bushes otherwise the AI finds you quickly even from a very long way away & follow you as well its quite impressive AI.

For the final boss battle(s) on Delta you need some lightning fast reflexes

Sure the PC version maxxed out looks better texture wise but in every other way the 360 version is superior due to the Cryengine3 HDR lighting & tweaked controls. Its really the best looking console HD remastered title made to date & a bargain @ £15 :D

what the hell? visually better than the PC version, are you smoking pot? more or less finished my first play thought on the Xbox version and must say it looks no where even close to the PC version, unless you played the PC one at a insane low resolution or settings. don't get me wrong it doesn't look terrible or anything, if anything the advantage this version has over the original is the game-play is better because of the faster more streamlined controls, Crysis with a mouse and keyboard just doesn't feel right compared to how it feels now, sure the PC elitists will disagree but the game-pad makes it more enjoyable to play! ;)

I played the original totally maxed out @ 1920x1200 in 2007 on a superfast PC & the 360 looks far better to me as the lighting is vastly superior. Someone posted a screenshot earlier on its a 2011 Cryengine 3 HDR game lightning scheme vs 2007 Cryengine2 HDR lightning scheme. Huge difference. Only thing superior on PC is the textures in places but even then this version has some stunning detail on many textures

PC elitists will hate this but its evolution the 360 version is better & plays much better due to improved controls & smoother more constant FPS. Even the loading times are faster which is the ultimate insult & the entire world is streamed with no noticeable loading once the initial level load has finished. Some levels are massive & look amazing you can spend 10 mins exploring certain levels from end to end this is simply a technical masterpiece on 360 ;)

If you ignore the poor textures, save stutters, frame rate dips, dumbed down physics, rubbish water effect and laughably blotchy shadows you might be right. :D

My friend ( who played through the pc version) has just said that its missing the section where u get to pilot the VTOL, i thought it was a straight port (story/gamewise) he may be mistaken but has reached a bit near the end without seeing it

The water graphics are quite poor in this version compared to the PC version.

It's true, this version is missing a couple of levels.

no just no, youv ignored all the blatent graphical problems with this game and some how come to the conlusion that its superior.
its a competant port, but its nowhere near the pc version. and i call BS on your so called maxing out the pc version in 2007.

Been playing this off an on since I picked it up - as always, in an attempt to make it last longer, I stuck it on the hardest setting; loving it so far - but it's too easy :( I guess they ported over the AI too, as these guys are just daft as brushes.

That's not to say I'm not enjoying it, in fact, I love the game :) It looks stunning too!

But..... Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!!! Where in hell do I get the *****POSSIBLE SPOILER????***** TAC gun from on the ship???

I can't get down to the armoury as the door has a red light on it and will only move slightly when bashed, so presumed there's another way in - but I've searched everywhere (I think) and can't find a way into the armoury :(

Google hasn't helped matters as there's a couple of posts about the same thing and it might be a glitch

Tried restarting the level several times but to no avail....
