i've been having a couple of problems with crysis, but this new one has made the game too much of an effort to play.

the original problem was that to get any sort of a decent framerate, i needed to reinstall the graphics drivers if i ever wanted to play it after the PC has been turned off. this i can live with, but its REALLY annoying. this doesnt happen with any other game, not even the crysis demo

the new problem is that, whenever i make any graphics change, the game will crash when i click apply. this has started at the same time that i installed AVG antivirus, but i doubt the two are related.

the only simple solution i can think of is to reinstall crysis, since i already have the latest version of it (V1.21).

is there a way to do this without losing my game saves?

this has started at the same time that i installed AVG antivirus, but i doubt the two are related.

That is where the problem lies, had it myself & a quick google came up with results.

You need to go into the advance setting under tools on AVG. In there on the left side go to Resident Sheild/ Excluded Items & add a path to where you crysis cfg is located. Mine for example "C:\Users\Kenny\Documents\My Games\Crysis\"

Hope that helps

ah thanks. very strange that AVG would stop me from applying graphics changes to crysis.

however, i would rather it got worried about things that were actually ok, rather than not worrying about much atall

do you know of any other games it doesnt like?

*edit*
hmmmm, doesnt seem to be working

Nope i Don't think I did, could be worth a try I guess.

It's the steam version of the game I have dunno if that would make any difference though

ah, i have the non steam version.

i have also excluded the game in my documents\my games, because i noticed the little scrotum thought it could hide in there too

i suppose it might help to tick the boxes in the 'excluded items' list

all working now. thank you very much for pinpointing that one
