Crysis Crossfire

Maybe the Problem is that nothing that both of you have said in this thread goes anyway to fixing the issues that the OP is having with his hardware which he has now sorted out anyway.

The only relevance your comments have in this thread would be in reply to the one person who said that Crysis doesn't get along well with multi gpu systems. which neither of you quoted & most likely was not referring to anyway.

there is always stupid little fixes with ATI cards...those cards are just hassle from what i hear

What you hear is irrelevant to fixing the OP problems as you have offered no help to fix it.

Are you the official thread police ?

My post was merely a bit of sarcasm, which you obviously missed. I hadnt realised this forum had a rule that required every single post to be a definitive answer to a question.
Now dont get me wrong here I am no big time nvidia fanboy I would just want best bang for buck every time I buy, But its blatently obvious to me that the nvidia solution in this instance is definitely more plug and play.
up to now I have never had to use any of these little fixes to get my cards to scale in a game, Not once why do the ati cards require this ?
why when paying a considerable sum of money for a dual gpu setup should you then have to go trawling the internet to find a fix to get it to work.
It's just annoying isnt it.
Its no surprise to me that more and more people are turning to consoles I mean the ops GPU's alone cost more than any console on the market and he has to go through all that messing to get them to work properly.

Nothing to do with it.
Its a help thread & both of you had no intention of giving any except to try and make the OP feel worse about his problem.

I mean Crysis working great on your SLI setup is a great help to any member who is having issues using Crossfire with Crysis.

Just a troll and NV fanboy, keeps this up then a perma ban is on the cards IMO.:o

From what I can gather, most people have no problems with xfire, so don't put it down because one guy has trouble with it, I am sure the odd person has trouble with getting SLI running, does this mean that SLI is screwed on the whole? get real, don't come on here slagging it because of one guy, fanboys pffff.

Jesus guys. It's sorted. Yes it's a bit of a pain but I keep this app in the same folder as my "overclock GPUs" desktop icon for maxing the clock speeds and pshing up the fans that I hit just before I play a game. This app means 2 more clicks and bingo, 60fps with max on Crysis

Calm down, calm down (I am scouse)

Thanks for the link BaDBoY_uK, i've recently built a crossfire setup after many SLI systems, I'm still finding my feet with it, at first it seemed strange going from loads of control panel options to virtually none but i've been pleased with the performance and stability so far, may give this little app a go though as it looks very handy.

1. Good Humour is based on the circumstance & good timing which you have failed at.

2. Pretty much irrelevant as this thread is nothing about bang for buck, he was not asking for purchasing advice & unless you bought those 280 recently second-hand then bang for buck does not even come into the equation because high end NV cards are not good value allot of the time, people buy them for there GPU power nit for the value.
There are games that run better on ATI as well. So every time someone has an issue in any game on a particulate brand instead of trying to fix a possible conflict or configure issue everyone who has the other brand should run in & say that it runs better on the other make & the OP or others having the problem should sell up or buy the other make of card to play that game & switch back & forth between brands of card for every time they play a game that runs better on each card & the motherboard if it does not support both SLI & CF, sounds really feasible.

3. I have had multi GPU since the 1900xt & had 4x3870s Quadefire without issue.
There are plenty of people who have issues with both brands & there are plenty that do not.
There is just far to many possible combinations of hardware & software for there not to be an issue for some people.

4. You make it sound like people have to go through that in every game they play.

Sarcasm: Dirt 2 running in SLI well for you because its not for many & should get a crossfire setup.
Ill just run along & find that thread & post that.

Its childish & that mentality should have been left at the school gates, its no help to anyone.

LMAO, couldnt agree more mate I didnt even know what he meant by "troll"

I don't know how you define "well" but I have an overclocked 5970 and the performance at 1920x1200 with AA is definitely way below what I'd expect for a title that old.

The only card I've had that would play it well enough to enjoy the game. I've tried it with an 8800GTS 320mb, a GTX260, a GTX280, a 4890 and a 5850 and the X2 was better than all of them.

The 5970 is still new and the drivers are parp.

EDIT: Glad you got the problem sorted OP :)

EDIT EDIT: I really hate fanboys. Go and bury yourselves in the snow and never come back again. Why do 2/4 threads have to degenerate into this childish monotony?

This is exactly the type of thing I was talking about, I mean £500 for a GPU With parp drivers and below par performance, Its just daft

The price tag is the main reason I didn't buy one. It's obscene. But hey, we can blame Nvidia for that :D

it does help in a way...it shows that ATI cards work great on some pc's and on other peoples pc's they dont work so well...i feel people should be made aware of it as gpu's are not exactly cheap are they

What a plank, NV cards have their fair share of problems as well on certain systems, only thefanboytrolls are blind to this and keep bashing ATI for no obvious reason=definition of a fanboy.

1. Nvidia are noobs who rip people off and hold the market back.... My opinion... See what I did there :o

2. ATI cards suck? The reviews and benchmarks say otherwise ;)

3. The first time I went SLI was with 2x BFG 8800GT's and it was a complete nightmare, crashes, drivers issues, glitches..... and it was later in the cards life so Nvidia had plenty of time to sort out the drivers. I gave up, sold both cards and got a 4870 :)

OP : The card hasn't been out long and ATI can't test and tweak it for EVERY game right off the bat, they have to go though each major game one at a time and then update the driver. It's a long process that has to be done, Nvidia go though the same process.

The GTX 295 had horrible performance at launch as well...it took a while for Nvidia to sort the drivers out for that.... Shame no one brings that up

This crossfire issue was annoying tbh. I used to be an ATI fan, then went to NV, then came back. Nothing to do with anything other than 4890s had good reviews. If someone gave me 3 x 295s, I wouldn't say no. Haha

This little app now lets me use CF in all games, not just some. I agree I shouldn't need it but I do, so hey ho. Now everything works great and I get average of 153fps in FEAR2 at max settings. Love it. Crysis WH holds constant at 55fps maxed. Love it.

Take fanboys with a pinch of salt tbh. You're all entitled to my opinion but anyone who doesn't offer a solution to my clearly defind problem and says stupid stuff like "well it should work" gets ignored

Peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeace

/me plays FEAR2
