Crysis gone Beta

Looking forward to the single player, multi looks like the usual uninspired deathmath just with suit abilities tossed into it.

what more can they do? its a fps game

Actually spend some time trying to make the multi something thats gonna make the game last??

I think farcry suffered the same fate, the only thing that expanded its life was the gimmick of the sm 3.0 patch, after the sp was beaten the multi slowly died away. Gets annoying to me when devs go all out for the sp experience when they know that the multiplayer portion is the games lifeblood.

yea but what can they do with the multiplayer portion of the game? other than deathmatch, capture the flag etc nothing else is left to do.

dont mock me, but out of my 2 150 raptors, i only use one atm, the other is in my draw with vista ultimate x64 everything installed and updated, i whack it in once every fortnight to update drivers and what knot, purely and simply for this game, so the day it comes out, i can stick my raptor with vista in and go crazy :D cant wait for Crysis, it had about a 40% play in why i bought this rig.

dx10 sli better be ready before it though otherwise ive waitsed 500 odd quid lol

It's good to hear it's getting developed this rapidly. Optimisation, iirc, isn't usually done until the latter parts of a game's development.
I do love the whole 'on-the-fly' nano suit customisation, that'll be amazing in terms of replay value. :D

I've had vista lying on my desk ever since I bought it, uninstalled it after a week and never went back and tbh, I don't think i'd even install it for Crysis, too much hassle :P

Eh, maybe I will, getting another HDD soon so ill whack it on that and see the differences/performance.

:)

Is Crysis optimised for quad cores and how much involvement has Nvidia had in the development?

From the Bit-Tech articale it suggests nVidia have always have someone camped out at CryTek for ages. No idea about Quads - but it will almost certainly take advantage of multiple cores - it would be silly not to really

It is definitely multi threaded. There was a interview a while back about quad cores. If I remember correctly, we will see a good improvement with dual core, but perhaps not the huge improvement you would expect from quad. Take that with a pinch of salt though, my memory has let me down before :p
