Crysis Mods

Having a look at that extreme quality mod as it does look excellent from seeing deific screenshots and videos. And playing through plain crysis at the minute again, so really want to play it with this mod.

But looks so complicated in that video.

I just want whatever mods deific has for the single player of crysis, not the multiplayer or any extra maps etc.

Is there an easier guide to do this?

Why couldn't this guy create a simple patch file or exe or something else :(

Thanks.

It's not really that hard mate, trust me :D

Install sandbox2 if not already done so (located on crysis disc)
Download mod
Load map in sandbox editor
Open flowgraph editor
Load mod
save
set a random trigger
job done

If unsure, just follow instructions in the video tutorial, very easy to follow :)

I don't like the mod that much though, due to the fact that it disables nanosuit and enables slow motion

Lol, it probably will seem **** easy, once I get it done :p

Ok, thanks for that, seems a lot easier now, that you have simplified it, so I might just get this done :p

Yeah, I read that in the comments for the mod, but there is a way around it, and also when you look at deific videos, he has the nano suit options. Personally I think slow motion is quite a nice bonus.

I just love the graphics for it, looks so realistic looking.

Are there any other graphical mods that look better or just as good as it?

Thanks.

I think that it's one of the best. However, next weekend I'm going to go on a crysis modding spree. I'll be trying loads of stuff like the eqm, an extreme quality config, natural mod, hi-def foliage, hi-def grass, rygel's texture mod, hi-res nano suit, extreme particles. Hopefully I'll find something to suit my taste.

Sorry to sway this thread slightly off topic, but is Crysis any good to play or is it just a benchmark game that is showing off a graphics engine?

Thanks :)

It's very difficult to play, I'd say that much. Extremely fun as well. It's an excellent game to play, even if you do it on low settings. In particular, because of the huge physics engine, there's loads of ways to do objectives by using the environment to your advantage. At the beginning of the game, there's a turtle on the beach. what I usually do is pick it up, activate super strength, then throw it at the enemy :p

Wow , I am sure that will look amazing with all that stuff on.

Didn't realise that there was all of that stuff either.

I'll try the EQM now, and see how it runs and then I'll put the HD foliage on and maybe try some of that other stuff that you have mentioned.

EDIT:

Personally crysis is one of my favourite games ever. You got so much more choice than your normal linear FPS. The graphics are great, still the one of the best games for the graphics, physics etc.

Storyline is decent.

The only complaint about it, is when you enter the alien ship thing, it was quite good and fun in some ways, but was so hard trying to find your way out as everything looked the same and it was very dark etc.

Oh and also one thing that I really didn't like, was that there was **** all ammo for the scar (the best gun), so had to use the FY7 as your main assault rifle, which IMO was no where as good.

Those are all the single files that make up the EQM, you can mix and match to see which combination you prefer. Personally it's great fun running around with all of them on, but playing the normal game with all of them would be next to impossible. Hitbox is the one that generally makes it unplayable so I'd steer clear of that. You really can do it in 3 easy steps.

1) Let's say you want 'free-aim', drag an area trigger onto the 'island' map, after opening the islands .cry file (located in the levels folder). You can find it under entitys > triggers. Once that's been placed, at the right hand side of the screen the toolbar will change and near the bottom it will say Flow Graph and have the option under it 'New', click it and name it.

2) Now open the flow graph window by view> open view pane> flow graph, and select the trigger you just made in the side panel.

3) File > Import the free aim .xml file you downloaded onto that trigger and close the flow graph window.

Do that for each one you want. Then just file > export to engine, and, file > save. You can import them all onto the same trigger or each onto their own trigger.

(If you want to test each one out one at a time, then it's probably easier to give them each their own trigger)

Simples!

Nice one, thanks very much, much appreciated :)

Yeah, I was just thinking that myself as I downloaded one of the extra maps that had some of the EQM mods installed and my goodness it is amazing looking and so much fun, but I couldn't see any of the enemies until they started firing at me, lol, plus other little things, and also from what I have seen in your videos with all of the motion, head movement etc. that would make it a bit harder as well.

Wow , that sounds even easier now :D. Good guide.

I will try that out sometime this week.

Today I installed some mods:

- Natural Mod http://crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=14195
- Nano suit classic customizable http://www.crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=4600&lim=20
- HD grass http://crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=5206&lim=0
- HD foliage http://www.crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=4471&lim=20
- palmtree texture http://www.crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=4381&lim=0&letter=P&sid=006e5b2ef1399a6e1b9c1d4ed442d3f4
- Just some maps, which had the extra mods etc. installed as well:

1. http://www.crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=4766&lim=0
2. http://www.crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=3365&lim=0
3. http://www.crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=2488

I installed a few other mods as well, but they where crap, so I won't post them :p

Also with all of these mods installed, the game actually feels a lot smoother than just the normal crysis for me , was expecting it to be a fair bit laggier, and also I seem to still have the roughly the same FPS as well (average around 20-30).

Will try to get some screenshots up later on.

I really must get a new graphics card and give this EQM mod a whirl. Looks like the CGI video they first released of Crysis way back when (explains a lot of the hatred towards it in itself to be honest).

Those are the same mods I use, except for the nano suit. Is there any point to that in single player?

Like you, I found these mods caused a marginal FPS drop. I'm still undecided about the HD Foliage one though - far off trees look like just empty branches, the leaves don't get drawn. It doesn't look as good. Maybe there's some setting I can tweak?

I did have the large texture mod as well, and it does make a dramatic difference in places, but found in the most demanding places, I was getting a big FPS hit. Without it, I can run on Very High, smoothly. With it, I can't even manage High without frequent stuttering.

Cool, they look worth checking out.

The HD foliage mod should still be rendering distant tree leaves. There's something wrong there.

I've played the resort map, it's very good. Another you might want to check out by the same guy is Cold Mountain.

I like it a lot personally. Your hands look a lot better looking :p and more HD looking, also whatever way you customize your suit it will also look like what you picked in all of the cutscenes as well, and also if your using a gun where you can see your entire body so you will see the suit that you chose/customized and also you can change the colour of your visor.

Nope, I didn't say that :p, mine seem to remain roughly the same, and plus gameplay seems a lot smoother than just normal crysis for me for some reason.

Haven't had a problem with the HD foliage one, works great for me and haven't had the problem that your describing, not too sure, maybe just mess around with the settings and your FOV.

Yeah, I was having a look at rygels texture pack at 2GB, but was worried about the FPS dropping quite a lot and I can't really be assed to download it and apply it :p, happy with the way I got crysis at the minute. Will apply it sometime this week along with some other mods.

Yeah, it is good fun, but my god, I can't stand the script for it :p, it is awful IMO, and I can't skip those scenes either :(, but apart from that it is good.

Personally I really liked this one, very short but really good fun:

Looks very nice indeed, will try it out sometime this week as well.

Thanks :)

Really can't wait for crysis 2 after playing crysis and seeing videos for the second one. Multiplayer looks epic as well, just hope it is a good port.

You're right, I've loaded the extreme quality 1.31 config, and it's working properly now.
It has dropped my average frames from 33 to 29 in the gpu benchmark, but it's still perfectly smooth in intense action, so no complaints.

Deific:

When downloading the standalone crysis EQM, in the description it lists the 3 graphics tweaks as Colour correction, contrast correction, and cvars config. Yet, there is only a download available for colour correction. does this still contain all graphics tweaks?
