Crysis Multiplayer Beta now on Fileplanet

 WOW, running so much better for me now.

Not so much higher FPS, though I am getting them, but just so much smoother. looks, sounds and plays smoother than before and a lot less glitches.

fyi, I'd be careful about breaking the NDA, posting change logs and the like, as Crytek are taking it seriously. Post on the beta forum stating they've revoked 150+ keys already and aren't stopping there.

Well that ran smooth as butter for me. It's just a shame that I was bombarded with graphical glitches that prevented me from seeing anything. :p

Last night when I was reading the forums, I noticed the keys were freely available now, so I thought, "why not?" ;)

Fired up an old machine here, even installed the fileplanet download manager on it, and set it downloading.

Was bouncing between 60-130k per sec, not great, but should've made it down by now.

Checked earlier, something had gone wrong with the download.
No probs I thought, restarted the computer, reloaded the Fileplanet Download Manager, and... joined the 45 min queue... and... it doesn't resume??? That was the whole point I installed the download manager, rather than just leave IE to do it. So despite the fact it was downloading overnight, and must've got a fair bit, it's just started again, from scratch, even slower than ever.

Damn, that's disappointing. I guess torrents really are the way to go!
So I got my key, and now on my second attempt at downloading it, which isn't going to finish today at the rate it's coming... not to mention I've gotta watch my download usage, as downloaded loads recently, including Steam games, TF2 :) and soon, Episode 2 and Portal.

V1N.

EDIT: Grrrr, furthermore it does have a dlpartial file in the folder, but has started a new one. Useless download manager!

EDIT: Double Grrrr, seems to have crashed again. Damn my poor old server needs fixing. So Now I have to start another download, and join the queue again... although this time, it may help, as it was coming down at 13k per sec! Blimey, could beat that with my old ISDN lines! ;)

Ah well, I've lost interest now anyway ;)

I left it in the queue, was due to start around 1pm.
Just checked, I'm at the end of the queue again, with another 45 min wait.. it didn't even start to download.

It's just not worth the hassle, not with the full demo coming out at the end of the month. So hell to it, I'll cancel it... after all the wanting a key, I got one, but can't get the file to use it with ;)

Oh well, I'll start to pre-load Portal now instead.

On the EA site I'm sure it said the release was 16/10/2007 for full retail release.

Just had a look at the rainforest UK store, and it says 16th November on there. Not that they're always entirely accurate, but that sounds about right if the SP demo is due out at the end of this month?

Never mind, I've waited this long, I'm sure a few more weeks won't hurt ;)
and besides, I think my system would struggle with the beta, so hoping the finished version will run better, as I'm trying to hold off upgrading until GeForce 9 ;)

yeah its in the announcements on crysis forums, make sure you join the proper version.

Its smooth on my gfx card on low, YAAAY :) .

At start tho, all textures are yellow/black, they turn normall after a bit one by one, my guess is it's still loading textures.
