Crysis on the XBOX????

Read the article people. They're saying it won't simply be a DX9 port, it'll be an actual different engine but use the same plotline.

The only possible way they could make it work. Neither PS3 or 360 (or even both combined) could prudce the quality of graphics that a high end PC could get. And much of the gfx comes form huge draw distances with massively detailed environments. Tuning this down will just look plain ugly.

The bottom line is the console are short of 1-2Gb of memory.

I expect if it does come out it willbe pretty pap and aimed at the people who saw it on a freinds PC and thought it was amzing and are stupid enough to think they'll get the same on the 360.

I'm not sure it will be. The PC version was/is still riddled with huge performance issues due to the fact that they had to cater for varying levels of technology. Even on low it still ran like a dog on mid range PCs. Correct me if I'm wrong but this is the first console project Crytek have done, so it'll be interesting to see how their development team adapts. Hopefully a sinle set of specifications will make things simpler and result in a solid, great looking game.

It will look good no doubt but I have no doubts about it being considerably inferior to the PC version. I'm sure the CEO said the consoles don't have enough memory or something.

Should be taken into consideration that the PC version only really shines when you use custom configs, it does look good without but so much better with them.

This is well old news anyway, there's no talk of Crysis coming to consoles IIRC, just a game using the same engine which hasn't been announced afaik, they just put up an ad for a PS3 developer and everyone thought it meant Crysis was on the way.

well as long as you had a 8800 you could game that on high and it was the best looking game/is the best looking game we've ever seen.

All previous Console far cry versions (not sure if crytek though) have been crap compared to orignal pc one so I have no reason to assume crysis will be any good.

First-Person games without a twist. It's god Aliens, modern weapons etc...
There are 2 FPS I've really enjoyed this year, The Darkness and Bioshock, both offered something different. Everything else was just similar and all moulded into one.

The market has become saturated with fairly average FPS games, and whilst I've not played through Crysis, what I've seen of it, what I've read of it and what I've heard about it, I'd say it falls into that catagory.

They were Ubisoft creations IIRC, as far as I know Crytek have only developed for PC.

All I'm saying is wait and see, they put a **** load of time and effort into Crysis for PC so you can expect similar dedication to a console project.
