Crysis SP Demo GPU Benchmark Thread

Validation: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/bz7s9/

Need to play around with clocks, would like a higher shader clock, might be possible by lowering core.

What res and settings?

1280x1024 - All Settings on HIGH in-game. (No AA selected)

I used Supersampling, H.QUALITY, no Optimisations as well in the NV CP.

Just goes to show, you don't need a super-high rig to still enjoy this game (obviously if you want eye-candy then you do). I've averaged 30FPS but I play on MEDIUM, not HIGH, and it still looks good imo. I think my AMD CPU is starting to get long in the tooth now and is holding me back though. Lol.

So you using 162.18? can you try the 169.04's to see if you loose performance.

Are you sure every setting is set to high and at 1280x1024? you're getting Ultra performance there.

Yer i know..it doesn't make much sense...i'm a little nervous bout putting on the latest drivers incase it won't let me backdate them if that is the issue. Can nobody else try to get hold of 162.18 and see what happens :p If it is a driver issue i expect a blue peter badge at the very least :D

I've honestly got them all on high @ 1280x1024.. just makes no sense.

nice thread on the benchmarks, and thought i would give them a try,, but noob Q ,, how do u run the benchmark.

EDIT found the folder with the file in it : C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis SP Demo\Bin32

Looks like you have some stuff on medium if not it all.

nah all high

Just done all medium now (apart from objects high, shaded) to compare incase these drivers don't take advantage of some of the effects or something as it may explain the performance but the graphics looked far worse on medium..

All high @ 1280x1024 =

min 39.5
average 50.5
Max 68

All medium @ 1280x1024 =

Min 31.81
average 52
Max 68

Bit too close? i dunno whats going on really. Be interesting when i get my GT to see what happens.

I'm going to have a go with those drivers, let you know what happens.

My average went from 45 on the 169.04's to 37 on the 162.18's.

I'm guessing you are doing something wrong then by the looks of it. :)

Just tried the 162.18's too and they cut my fps from 52 to 43. :(

Edit: As you can't overclock the shaders on the 162.18's I've lost nearly 300Mhz on the shaders. Will run again later with the 169.02's at the lower shader speed.

Base Line Scores - Stock 8800GT

The settings are pretty much straightforward although I have left 'Sound Quality' at high throughtout and drivers are default (no tweaks).

I did notice that once you enable AA the the Shader-Quality switches itself to *high*

The results so far are all baseline and the card is running completely at stock, as noted before I am letting the benchmark loop itself four times then averaging the results instead of cherry picking the best one lol! :p

Personally I don't think any results that have a minimum framerate under 30fps is playable! :o

What makes you think that? just because the number is less than 30 dont mean its unplayable, also say at 25fps, it does not feel laggy, feels more like 30.
