Crysis vs. Far Cry 2

Because so far every video has shown enemies standing around waiting for you to do that stuff, im hoping it is that the difficulty is set to easy, but even then easy difficulty shouldn't mean no a.i. it should mean less damage. If it was the case that its set to easy i dont see why every video would be done like that.

Thats one of the stupidest things i've ever heard. Surely the easy level should be aimed at people who need it to be easy, people who probably can't aim and won't notice that an enemy is trying to flank them. If the player isn't going to notice an AI flanking them, then it obviously isn't easy.

The video's i've seen so far have all been on easy in order to demonstrate the abilities of the engine, i've not seen one video demonstrating the advanced AI of the enemies yet. How are developers going to show off their new features if the AI are set to a realistic level and the developer keep getting picked off and having to start the level again.... doesn't make for a very good demonstration does it?

I don't get how the bioshock AI was set to easy in the videos i saw of it yet everyone said it was amazing. The enemies ran through a door and ran straight into a clearly obvious trip wire.... surely a realistic AI would not run in all guns blazing? In fact, i don't think the guy in the bioshock vid had any guns blazing... i think he just ran into the tripwire like a headless chicken.

I'd honestly say it's about even, having played the original Far Cry I'm sceptical as to how good the gameplay in Crysis will actually be although how can you not look forward to it when it looks just so sexy

In regards to Far Cry 2 haven't seen anything in terms of footage yet (is there any even available yet?) but I really like the look of it from the few screenshots, especially the African setting

Neither will proberly beat BioShock mind I'm simply addicted to that and that doesn't happen to often with me :p

Difficulty should not really affect intelligence, you'd still expect enemies to react in the same way (flanking you for example) but they should do less damage and you should do more. That way gamers who aren't as accomplished still get the realistic experience at an easier level. You say all the videos are demonstrating the engine and at first i thought that was the case but we're getting closer and closer to launch and every video is the same, surely they would have some videos showing off the a.i. as well?

Bioshock isn't a very good comparison, the enemies in it are meant to be insane lunatics intent on your demise, not trained mercenaries/soldiers. As i said i hope im wrong but if they did have good a.i. in crysis i can't understand why they wouldn't have shown it yet

I am sure that both will be well received and fun to play. I am looking forward to Crysis especially because I have a weakness for alien invasions and the US military getting the **** kicked outta them ;)
