CRYSIS vs. The Modern GPU (Part 1)

Min FPS: 17.80 , Max FPS: 26.60

Run #1- DX9 1680x1050 AA=No AA, 32 bit test, Quality: Medium ~~ Overall Average FPS: 21.675

Thats mine with a 8600gts

Seems like this test is ok just I doubt you fly all over the map like happens in the gpu demo
Your lower fps is much lower but you have higher max fps too.
Some of the long distance rendering is slowing you down I think, you'd not get so much of that walking on the road rather then viewing from the sky above it

If you want to do your own test try getting Fraps to record the average fps when you play (on medium) and see what it says

Well acording to Fraps, i was getting between 22-24 fps on the beach section just after your shots fails on the first level. No way does it feel like 23 odd fps though, looks much smoother!

Motion blur helps smoothe it out. The game is playerble at 25-30 where as most other games you need 50+

I dont know, not getting the game till i got my new rig up when the GTS comes out. But i presumed it was the motion blur making everything seem really smoothe. i gues not.

8600GT cores at 1GHz eh?

Cant say Ive done it myself but its the same core as the gts I think and so it clocks well apparently

Found this:
82o658x.gif

Core is @ 600
Memory is a @ 750 i think

Shaders im confused by :) dunno how fast i can push that

The memory chips are probably different to mine but clocks I have used are:
760 core, 1700 Shader, 2240 memory

Gonna be running some benchmarks soon using the 8800GTS 512MB (G92) but my main machine is in bits at the moment as I'm rebuilding it into an Antec P182. Anybody with a new 8800GTS feel free to post some benchies up, keeping with either [All Medium] or [All High].

Did AMD get a driver fix sorted for the HD3850/HD3870's yet? would be good to see some CROSSFIRE results?
