CS:GO Discussion

On surf maps the fps does matter, as while you surf or use auto bh at 140 you'll be slower than you would on 300.

P.s. Is there anyone who plays on surf? I hardly get 200fps on surf maps... Most of the time its 120-140...

With the spec below I get horrible frame drops during combat/looking into smokes and some stuttering. Running CS:GO at 1440P with most of the settings turned down to low/medium. Not at home atm to give a proper list of settings. But running around not in combat I am always rocking 300FPS.

But are there any common fixes I should do? It frustrates the heck out of me.

Long shot but other day I enabled secure virtual machine in bios and had this issue till I turned it off.

Anyone else been getting terrible lag? I've played this game for couple of months now. Then all of a sudden in the last week it's been unplayable. It's like stuttering every couple of seconds. Everything is just jittery, my ping when I first played would be around 20-30 but the last week it stays around 50-70 with the odd time its spiking upwards of 400. When I do a speed test my ping is always 19-25. Half of the time I can't even pick the right weapon to switch to due to it nevermind play. Now I've got more time to play again it's really bothering me, especially when everyone in comp is calling you a lagger.

Anyone got any suggestions? Internet problem or PC problem?

CS:GO servers have been having terrible lag recently, and a high % of packet loss. It's not you.

Played 3 games after my rank up, and lost all 3. Once again, I had a number of stupid team mates. I will now play only if I have a party of at least 3.

I ranged so much that I killed my team mate and got a 2 hours ban. it left already, but I do't like being on level 2 already!

been loving it, my rank is awful as everyone in the house just pops on my account for a go :/

I think it is getting more popular isnt it? some folk I know avoided it at first saying it was a bit shallow in the match making department, having played cs since around 2000 I needed something a bit more relaxed anyway.

I get pretty steady 300 fps on my 2500k with a 280x

I actually get around 200-300 fps on normal maps as well, it's just some of the surf maps that my fps goes mental...

Are 4 golden stars good? I only played around 96 hours in CS:GO and still not the same skill level as I was in 1.6 :( ...

Sounds good to me.
Silver is basic, gold stars are below average to average. AK to Eagle is above average to elite. Supreme and Global are sub-pro

Looking at the model boxes, seems they should or could make the hs box smaller as its currently bigger then the head, yet Ive heard of non lethal glancing shots on a skull; so if anything the hitbox could be slightly smaller

I hate playing with random people as they usually are total noobs, thats why I barley play CS:GO...

My hours including my previous steam account, non steam and current steam account I think the total hours played is something like 2,4k in 1.6. The feel of CS:GO is the feeling of a totally different game and the only thing that seems familiar is the look... What sens did you use in 1.6 and now in CS:GO? I can't find the right sens...

Similiar here on normal maps, it's only the surf maps that are a pain in the butt.

Edit

Uploaded a quick vid just to show the issues i'm having. Seriously annoying, can't even get into a casual game with players.

Well you aren't alone, I'm having some weird issues with CS:GO as well but not as extreme as you. But I think my issue with it is something that valve will never fix...

Ouch! I'm beginning to think solo queuing puts you at a huge disadvantage although sometimes you can get lucky and matched with a good team.
