CS:GO Discussion

yeah i wouldn't mind ranking up, was on a nice little win streak until last night. im guessing losing the games last night wouldn't be as bad as losing against a bunch of silvers though.

Yea shouldn't hurt you too much, I ranked up in a draw yesterday playing with flighty, sound etc, as I did well personally and was against higher ranks.

The main thing with being a lower rank, is to try to play intelligently even if you are aiming badly or getting out shot, you can still be useful even if you end with what looks like poor stats. Last night I was actually aiming well even in the first game on inferno, but I was making bad decisions and playing stupidly, which meant I ended up like 10 for 25 and was generally a massive anchor, yet in the second game I didn't aim any better, but my play was better and I got a 30 bomb.

For us lower ranks the game sense, and play is the most important factor I think, as even if we die lots if you can keep the other team occupied buying time for the rotate to happen, or keeping the ct's busy at a site so the rest of the team can push the other.

An extreme example is fifllaren for Nip, he's not the best fragger and often bottom frags, but his general play is bloody good and he ties opponents down even if he doesn't get the kills, hence why nip keep him on where other teams might not because cs more than anything is about team work more than just getting kills.

When me and sound played with someone from here last night and 1 of his friends and a random it just didn't work as the random despite being bloody good at fragging, he didn't work with us and it fell apart.

Good playing with you guys yesterday. Please stop playing overpass, its a terrible terrible map. :o

More D2, nuke, Inferno, Cache, Mirage!

r0ss, spud, raider or me.

All quite handy with the AWP. Although I feel strats can work just as well without an AWP. Replace it with a smoke and you can be equally as effective.

I think you are a scout master nik!

I was just kidding btw ;)

That was my original thought, i've come to quite enjoy the map now.

I swear people just say 'this map is terrible' each time they try a new map! You can't say a map is terrible after one play through, even more if the opponents you face have played the map before.

Play it well, learn the smokes etc. then judge it. I think cobble is a fantastic map. Very good for lurkers and expressive T play. It is not easy to hold, not at all. There are only a few choke points and the sites are spread open, so a good shot will dominate the map. Still, the corridors/skyfall parts are very important to hold. if you lose, your CT side will be very weak. A large map also helps since people can walk around and they will not be heard, as people will be holding the edge/back of the map.

No every map is terrible but Dust II and Inferno end of discussion :D

Dust 2 is overplayed. I dont like as its too much awp, maybe its popular because skilled rifle can work too. The b rush failing from smoke and/or awp is the worst, give me inferno b rush any day

And office. Dont ever forget cs_office.
The only source server which worked for me was 24/7 deathmatch office. I hope we soon get more like castle or overgrown, much preferable to the same old same old.

On Esea Ive played Season which is good map and De_mill if you remember that one? Last played it 2003.
If you are going esea at all and it does work in europe ok I think then practise those two maps first. I got a lot of flak as bottom fragger, pretty sure I'd get kicked if I told them I never seen the map properly before, only on twitch :D

The pro teams get babied, it was the same in 1.6, it's like pulling teeth trying to get them to play new maps. Put simply tournaments need to force map changes through and have them guarnteed to be played in early rounds.

Not really. They want good and balanced maps.

Season, Crown, Tuscan etc. are all competitively viable maps which have not been added to most of the official map rotations. Arguably, previous iterations of these maps were in older CS game versions, but so was cbble (and I think overpass).

Cache is a map that was never in CS before, and it was accepted easily in the map rotation pool.

D2 is terrible, I dont get why everyone loves it so much. Over played and boring IMO.

Is popular because it's an easy to learn map and is relatively simple. People like it because the enemy will always be where you suspect them to and lessens the chance of unexpected shots that you can't tell where are coming from. It's sad to say but the more complex a map is the less it will be favoured because it just takes too long to master, learning all the usual points that the enemy will be expected to be at a certain time. Yeah, it's boring as hell but arguably the simplest maps always win out. It's the same in TF2 with Turbine. That map is literally a box.
