locked fps at 200 (playing 144hz) Seeing this better in this game is good you know

Right, I really want to update the Op to include a full post regarding what everybody should know about CS:GO. It should include the basics including

TS Server(s)
CSGO community IP server(s)
Introductory videos (links to operationl2p and stuff)
Difference between casual/competitive/community servers
Rank breakdown
STEAM Group(s)
A full list of the people playing and their IDs (might be useless cause of groups, and it is a lot of work. Maybe I can add a few people's names)

What else do I need to add? Also, give me links to good videos/tutorials etc.

Personally I'd put the shadow detail up to max, as it vastly increases the draw distances for shadows which is highly useful in certain areas, if a T is coming long on dust 2 and stops by the wall after pit you can see the shadow comfortably if playing car, this gives you a good advantage especially if it's an awper as you can see when he's about to peak and pre fire him.

I think you want 200fps The server might be 128 max but it probably feels smoother above that.

Im on 64 tick servers now and anytime fps goes below 100 its disrupting the game feels like and my monitor only shows 60hz but still.. At the very extremes jet pilots can perceive 400fps, not arguing this helps with a game like cs but game isnt capped to 128?

especially if it's an awper
I dont have a choice as I have to rma now, so its all low but I think rifle or awp main changes things also.
fps first, everything else second and res is personal preference, 4:3 seems to be stupid but works best in reactions or flick/lucky hs for me as far as I can tell

I did post up a detailed guide on ELO. It was like 12 pages, mini thesis. Cant find the link now, its scoring you every game so even if rank dont go up you might be closer.
Like I ranked up on tie game again but that makes it more likely for a fast demote too

I doubt you would notice any improvement above 128FPS.. Also if you cap it then it is consistent, maybe cap it higher if you have a 144hz monitor.

Ill give it a go

I used to play capped fps when I had really low spec. So rather then go from 60fps to 20, I'd cap at 30 and it felt 'smoother' [bit crap but more predictable]

I agree with that, you want consistency so you can measure your own aim and fast movement over time. Somebody on really high spec can gain above the server tick rate, it wont receive more detail then that in your transmission but locally you can find better aim with higher frequency like 144hz monitor or just higher fps. Thats my guess, maybe a global elite on twitch would say for sure.
Im sure you never want to lose 128fps as minimum or you will gradually suffer more inaccuracy or inconsistency. I do currently on a 4870, so Im all low but I might stay low even on 7950 for min 128fps

Not sure but probably Rate should be 128000 or 64000 on mm. One reason I was glad to leave 1.6 behind for source was all the fiddling with console commands every game

You can lock it to 128 / 129 because that is the max tickrate of the game. fps_max

This would be useful if server tickrate was synced with ingame FPS. As it is, even if you could maintain a constant, unwavering 128 fps, there's still a chance that you'd receive a tick update just after you render a frame, and you'll have a slightly larger rendering delay than if you were at 300 fps. I'd say just leave it at default 300 fps. Even if you've got a rubbish computer, it's better to use the extra frames when you get them.

Not sure that is correct tbh but oh well..

I don't know if it is true, but on 64 tick servers, I used to have my FPS locked to 65, and I used to play SO bad. I put it back up and it boosted my skills so much. The reg was SO much difference. I lost 2 ranks with my fps lock command, and I could not get it back. When I upped the limit I gained them back easily.

I'm locked at 200 atm.

Yes at 65 fps because that is low all the time and would be hard to play because of the FPS not the reg.
