CS:GO Discussion

Always cap FPS on a FPS... anything over 275 is just pointless and you'll start to see screen tear etc if your monitor isnt designed for it

i dont think 400fps is the holy grail. its a waste i feel, i only have a 60hz monitor so from my understanding anything above 60fps for me is a waste (hope im getting that right)

No, unlike some games (quake 3 engine, cod4 etc) I don't think there are any set fps values that give you any real advantage. I think the pros generally leave it uncapped, but I don't see what advantage 1000 fps would give you over say, 300. Generally 200+ is considered 'healthy', but not in exact multiples of your refresh rate. Greater than your refresh and the 128 tickrate is probably a minimum to aim for.

Nah, I'm pretty sure there are benefits of having it higher (much higher!) than your refresh rate. Don't ask me to explain why though!

Thanks for the info guys. I know in Q3, 125 FPS was the optimum. But there was an exploit in the game physics that meant if you had 333 FPS you could jump higher and move faster.

I will take a look into it. I use my montior capped at 120hz anyway because I have an ATI card. I am hopeful my rig should be able to run CS:GO at 275 FPS without dumbing down the graphical quality too much.

Global Shadow - High
Model/Texture - High
Effect Detail - High
Shader - Very High
Multicore Rendering - Enabled
Texture Filtering - 8x

i have my fps locked at 275 so i get constant 275 pretty much

You want to buy shader on 'low' otherwise when you walk with the scout / awp you will get a blur which gives you a major disadvantage. Feel free to try it, put it on high and walk with the awp, then put it on low and see the difference.

Takes about 10 minutes to do all this, but if you want to configure for competivie play then take a look at this - http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=322206521

I've never played with shader on low, if it makes you slightly better at awping im afraid i'll break the server i'm that good...

Nah but seriously, apparently im right eye dominant acourding to the steam post, gonna try with the gun in the left hand tonight.

the problem is not getting the funds onto the account.

once added i cannot spend them due to steam guard or something

it says i can verify my card details by inputting two amounts that they deposit into my account, but when i check online banking there is nothing there
