CS:GO Discussion

I haven't played for months and stupidly decided to join a MM game. I was an MGII before hand but was dropped to MG. I was absolutely useless, to the point of being an embarrassment for the team.

What's the best way to ease myself back in to this. We won, but there was 0 enjoyment and tonnes of abuse directed my way haha :)

You seem to be a pro90 wielding pubbie.

Ease your way back in? Go all in man and ignore the harassment, only way to regain your skill.

I think you are looking at the wrong profile, mine is here: http://csgo-stats.com/Mada/

I'm fine with the abuse but I just got carried to the extent that I didn't learn much and made stupid mistakes trying to compensate for my poor play. I played a couple of pub games last night and did ok, hence why I gave competitative a go. I'm guessing this can be why people have multiple accounts?

Yeah people have smurf accounts when they want to feel good about sucking higher up....

Or like you that has taken a break and want build your way back in.

I also lost my auto exec when I didn't back it up after installing a new SSD. I went for Budis config (https://gist.github.com/nickbudi/3916475) but it just doesn't feel right, I can't put my finger on why. A large part of it was my aim and poor reactions, however :)

The moral of the story is not to stop playing. I stopped playing somewhere around July/August and have fancied starting again but struggled to find the time.

Have you checked your sensitivity? I played a game once at the wrong setting (Mouse has buttons to change it on the fly) Didn't notice and played like utter crap. After seeing it was changed, changed back and all was well in the world. lol.

That config changes a lot, including sensitivity. I'd remove it and play on default for a while and then tweak to how you like, rather than someone else's.

Theres good technique (opposite of panic or poor timing), fast aim and general map or strategy decisions. Also reactions. You wont have forgotten it all

I go on arms race to see if I should even bother with mm. If you cant get like 4 kill streak against the general noob population then somethings off and really should be possible to win that even when they all know where you are.
Same for deathmatch, at MG or above use FFA not plain deathmatch; which is everyone is a valid target

Im not arguing its proper practise but its more the correct tempo. You can go into a match or play casual and you die then wait a minute then concentrate then die, you are going to get beatdown by teammates before you get with the program

rate 64000 on 64 tick is best i think
cl_updaterate 64
cl_cmdrate 64

Nice ace above mate. As with the other comments, crosshair placement could be better but can't really take anything away from that. I'm still yet to get an ace in the game!

Good to see some people here playing Face It. If anyone is interested in grouping on there (and bearing in mind their matchmaking we'll likely have good success) then feel free to add me. My username is 'sparr0w', the same as my Steam ID.

Was playing with some american friends last night and I think it was my rank up match having won 5 in a row before it......winning 10-5 then 4 people on my team get disconnected and I am trying to play with 400 ping... :'(

Gotta love Valve servers

The rogue esea programmer was operating far past any other member of the team apparently hence he was able to slip that code in there. The problem now is I dont think esea is upto par on their cheat detection as they once were, someone that high quality or specialised is not that common i guess

Speaking of which, the developers of Microsoft Office have assembled a CSGO team and are playing the devs of Gears of War in a league Mirage match. strange but true

might be a forfeit [nope its Qualcomm now, of course it is :o]

I might slip a bet on Rhythm at 12% but its pretty certain to go to Mspaz

Solo faceit is horrible.

Was just about to post the same thing. Done 5/6 games today solo queueing on faceit. I've had captains resigning after being 3-0 down, tking and griefing, and constant toxic talk, even from losing the knife round. Even if I top frag, it didnt stop the bottom one calling me a noob, just because I was the random. Horrible experience.
