CS:GO Discussion

Tips for a newbie, alright in deathmatch, just run and gun, got absolutely rekt in competitive, got 3 kills at most, game felt sorry for me and gave me a gun xD

Deathmatch can be good for learning weapon spray but the playstyle is completely different. In competitive you'll be up against people playing tactically and who will listen for your footsteps, so running around like a headless chicken will get you wasted pretty quickly. :p

Have a go on Casual servers and learn the maps and watch competitive matches and see how others play (as MoDe has said). :)

Deathmatch isn't about getting kills its about practicing things like tapping, bursting, spraying, holding angles, strafe shooting, how to peek corners, etc

Its great for learning if you aren't just trying to get kills. Have 15 minutes where you only 1 tap with the ak47, then try to hold long doors or b from tunnels, etc

just run and gun,
play with p250 in dm and you will die a lot but also be forced to aim for the headshots more. People have called for that gun to be nerfed and you dont need to worry about movement penalty immediately.
I dont recommend casual that much, I think its a mess and discouraging. Even demolition I think you'd learn more or an empty map and throw smokes, type kill in console repeat
Aim at a wall, try to get all shots below a line to start and that should be below head height. Try to collect the spray pattern together a bit more and its the first 10 that matter, you could just stop and restart with some cover. If like me you might see after you die each bullet you fired is spaced apart and theres space for the head model in between each, collect it more then you can aim it

check out this game for the real deal - http://play.esea.net/index.php?s=stats&d=match&id=3967373
33 kills and lose, the bottom fraggers were probably below my rank and the top on both sides were pro.

I was in game with 1 player who had 60 kills and lost but that was a guy from DINOpower  using a hack most likely playing with his mates from wow

20% odds on Winout seems a good deal
Pauly wasnt playing, he is like 60% of the team so its like 2 v 5. Opps, should have checked roster as I wouldnt have bet. I never really roll over winnings so no biggy

I clutched 2x 1vs4,1x 1vs3 and won the 1vs1 on 2nd half in T. I can link it tomorrow, I'm not at home.

Last 3 games were terrible (Inc the match with these clutches), I'm tired of having 15-20 points more than person under... The truth is that without team or at least 2 ppl in group on TS its hard vs smurfs/normal players...
I've won 7 games in a row with ransoms, the 8th which IMO should have been rank up was a total loss, 2 silvers and 1 guy boosting them.

Yawn, who cares? Everyone established months ago that MM is unreliable, that ranks are so volatile due to randoms and as such ranks are almost meaningless - look at Raider, plays and frags like a Silver one but is MGE... ;)

Oh, and Happy New Year all :)

True! But I got some of my old friends (most were drunk, it was still fun to play thou) we did a premade. The games were "ez" and we messed around.

We managed to do 16:10 in a match with a cheater...

Edit:
I'm buying premium today on ESEA, lets see what games are like there when solo queuing. I hope there are no trolls with ranks lower than DMG :D

Edit2:

Happy new yearr

Qpad mk80 keyboard

Razor headset

1280*720 (With black bars)
Intellimouse Explorer 3.0
Large cloth pad
Rubbish headset, need to buy a new one

Still boss it though ;)

Wonder why a lot of pro players ect and player these days, Use such low res?

Smaller res, bigger (proportionally) hit-boxes. Always has been the way :)

4:3 res can be stretched onto a 16:10 or 16:9 resolution. Makes players and object look closer and wider (so easier to hit/aim at etc) but does shave quite a few degrees off of your fov.

It doesn't make the hitboxes bigger it just makes the heads look bigger. Some people find it easier to aim but mostly pro players use it because most come from 1.6 and are used to low res.

Its all preference.

I play with default settings.

screen ress is 1920 x 1080, turn off vsync and then leave the rest as they are on a 24" LG monitor.

got a GTX 970, I7 950 @ 4.1ghz, 6GB of ram and 2 x Samsung evos 840s 250GB drives.

Mouse: Mionix Naos 7000

Edit:

ESEA Profile

Well its taken a while but just had my 1st competitive match that was full of trolls, they were all team killing, chucking bomb into places couldn't reach etc etc. So instead of wasting my time I abandoned the match for the 1st time in 100hrs, I got a 30min cooldown for it though which is annoying but whats the point in being the only person on the team playing the objective? will this adversely effect my ranking?
Had a good 3 wins in a row before that.

Oh and happy new year everyone =o)
