CS:GO Discussion

Had some good randoms tonight though confused on matchmaking as I am at silver master and everyone else was gold 1-4 mixed

Game thinks you should rank up is my take and/or you are cannon fodder :D

UPDATE 2 - Effect of Win Count (K Factor & Uncertainty) said:
Basically, the more wins you have the harder it will be for you to Gain/Lose Elo Points. In other words, your rank gets closer to your true skill as you play more and more games. A player with 20 wins is able to rank-up and/or de-rank A LOT faster than one with +100 wins because of this. Please bear in mind that it both affects gaining AND losing Elo Points, so even though you might rank-up slower if you win, you also de-rank slower if you lose.

There's a limit on how much points you can gain/lose in each round and in each game that's decided based on Win Percentage each player has.
If you have a low amount of Wins, you will have a higher K Factor in your games, therefore it will be easier for you to CHANGE (Gain OR Lose) your Elo Points.
news to me but I guess it figures. I posted this guide ages ago, practically a dissertation on ELO / MM factors

Cheers for the games tonight Rj, hybridx, cookeh and Dan
Was a great laugh. Such a tough last game against a premade 5 (clan type set strats) but managed to bring back a 11-4 HT to a 15-15 tie on inferno. Every other game was a win. Dan is a beast with the AWP and the dualies!! Lol cheers again

Thanks for inviting me in tonight Sabre. One draw and one win and I ranked up straight away. I think I need to play on some more maps though as I let you guys down on Cache.

Finally played some comp again. By some I mean one match. Which we got walked over the first half. Pulled it back to 16-11 I think from 11-4 first half. Took a while to get used to it again, and then I just grabbed the AWP. Guess when we started winning rounds again? :D

Yea too many oil millionaires i guess :p Summit made the point he does 6hrs competetive CS every day, thats almost his job pretty much so would you say he is any good? He is playing in some pro matches as of late

He is a very good player, as you would expect given that he was well know in in 1.6 and a pro near the start of GO. He carries Area 51 (and they're still getting stomped this year).

He has no real incentive to play for a better team because they would demand more of his time: which would mean taking a pay cut from his very lucrative streaming job.

any of you fine fellows going to be on this afternoon?

If any of you bet Titan on the Titan vs Piter game I bet you were nipping!
I bet Piter and it so nearly came in!

Lost my CLG Gamers2 bet aswell

Next one I have is Wolves ill probably loose that aswell! lol

Wolves? Get out, Norwich got it in the bag! :p :p

Hmm... Interesting info, do you have any source to back up this statement? :)

Yes...

Check out Virgin medias forum, there packed with complaints about Telia routing.

WoW is another classic example of this. :(

I cant believe CLG did so well, vs titan as well. cache is not their best but maybe they got lucky to get dust2 for titan.
Was listening to c9 interview, seems like they do no research unless they lying. Everytime they asked an opinion, well I havent had time to watch... pro players who cant watch a demo of a game for studying opponents.
I know some in mm who trying to rank who do that much research. Hopefully they lying and not quite that slack

bettings stats I guess hltv but its offline.

I had a few good rounds holding b by my self but only so much you can do need more bullets :D
Swap weapons at that point. take cover then back off and wait for the rest to rotate
Queuing as a five man lobby we go against some proper tactical teams seems like, kinda funny when we are nova 1 only. Fakes, full smokes and cordinated entries. MM does a good job of reducing the advantage we have over just random solo queues, which is smart I guess

A global elite in a game should be more like 16-2 because he should do a clutch every round. Nade them, smoke, send a flank thats the only chance :D

decide youself... anything can happen in BO1 games especially at LAN... its impossible to call.. all these sites saying 80%+ win ratio is BS..

Just bet and watch and enjoy the games..

however.. LGB on there day are an insane team i used to watch polly a lot when he was in old LC team as with Rubino too and with the new players rain and jkaem they aim just as good as anyone... they are defo a team to look out for this year.

Easy £30 made on LGB vs CW

-Highlights people red on gun game.
-"Competitive Cooldown" every 2 wins........for 20 hours.
-Russians
-Stupidly unfair teams
-Retards

I'm thinking of going back to Source.

The match making bit is shockingly poor. Not chuffed.

What rank is that though, games improve as you clear the dross that is silver. silver is basically casual with ranks and less people. Go to nova 2 before you decide

Is it worth betting liquid, the old flipside team is now property and I only recognise Markeloff

http://www.reddit.com/r/csgobetting/comments/2vn87p/liquid_vs_flipsid3_bo1_140215_1630_cet/

Problem is it depends on the map, bo3 is more dependable. I guess skip as 35% isnt massively underdog odds for liquid, I dont know this flipside team well enough
80% is incorrect a lot of the time, a51 the other day nearly had that at similar odds
