CS:GO Discussion

Picked up another copy of CSGO for a fiver on an alt account the other day and almost got it to rank 3 so if anyone particularly low ranks needs any help just shout.

M4A1-S for me. I find the normal M4 seems to go around the target and not at them. The silenced version is incredibly accurate when tap shooting.

did you get the operation to help or just DM/Arms race etc

Nah just Casual and Arms race. They give more XP. Armsrace seems to be better for time/XP especially if you power through them and keep winning them as I did last night :)

The M4a1 and M4a4 have pretty much the same style of spray pattern but the m4a4 one is more exaggerated and larger. First 2 rounds with the m4a4 is accurate though and good for tapshooting 2 to the head or one upperchest and one head due to natural rise in the spray pattern. (1 hit registers for about 89 on an armored player)

If you watch pro players aim with the AK they have the crosshair well under the feet of the enemy, it looks like it should be too low but nearly always the spray will rise up and a bullet will hit the chest/head. Very impressive.

rare, that's one thing that never changed from 1.6, you aim for the head.
you might have seen some flukes, most times they pre-aim for chest/head. That's the normal way to do it too, why wait 2-3 bullets and random recoil, when you can have him in the first?

Because guns have accuracy which is completely separate from recoil spread. A bullet will come out with a center position, and then a random radius and random angle from it. So the further away you are, if you don't move your crosshair at all and shoot, wait long enough for recoil to reset and shoot again. Depending on the weapons accuracy and distance, it will land in a different spot.

So over long distance sometimes even if you have your crosshair perfectly on their head you can still miss. It's why you should do 2-3 bullet bursts with the AK at long distance and aim for the neck. Has been this way since 1.6. Source was a different story though because the recoil spreads were randomized everytime which was really annoying. And spray obviously is more useful if you encounter multiple targets or someone up close.

But the for the most part I agree with you, superior first shot accuracy is more important than recoil control. But both are still important.

I really really advise going onto community maps and looking at Recoil Master and just practicing the AK spray.

I'm a full on spray person now, I rarely ever tap anymore and I normally come out on top. Even if it's a simple 3-5 bullet burst, I'll still prefer that over tap tap tap. I can control the 3 bullets easier than trying to tap him 3 times.

They kill in 2 or 3 bullets if they good so thats not the feet. Sounds like you use the AK how I used to it, blunt force, surprise them and pray for HS but try for the HS much sooner in the spray pattern is best. Dumore is very good on AK, friburg is good with A4 or AK . I think Pasha is great with AK and he wasnt on awp last games ? he can do both
Almost all the pro use A1 because its a team game and its the fastest more accurate kill but the A4 is better overall if you were having to kill alone. It takes more skill to use A4 and it doesnt do more damage, the AK is best gun in the game and some teams I find almost require it to do well with the missing hs damage on M4 causing a problem in how they challenge

I prefer A4 as I think I must need the tracers which is really bad reasoning but mm is often silly. I used to play CS with AK only, when teams reversed I would just swap back to T side which works when all the servers were casual type, m4 sucks :p

aim at floor win

Anyone suggesting people use the A4 is just plain wrong at this point. Compared to the A1 it does less damage, has much higher recoil, far higher spread (so less accurate), less moving accuracy, it's louder (huge factor) and while yes it has some upsides like price, the A1 is just far superior compared to it.

Well, that is unless you have a Howl skin for the A4. That ofc makes it 50% more accurate and cool.

I prefer M4A4, allows me to better prefire and spam. Plus Ive been in more situations than Id care to admit where Ive killed 1/2/(rarely 3) with the A1 and then run out fo bullets only to get shot dead by the next guy. I also dont notice much accuracy difference unless at extreme ranges.

how long did it take you>?

Just ground 2800xp on my main steam account in arms race(to get weekly ****** cobble drop). Winning probably 85% of the games took 99mins according to steam.

So essentially rank 3 through would take about 8 hours of Arms Race. I need 4000 to hit rank 3 actually on my alt so ill play some casual now and see how it goes.

Edit: Casual was paying about 600xp a game but taking about 20-25mins to do whereas arms race was taking 8 minutes to win a game for about 280xp

The A1 is superior (or the same) in all aspectsover the A4 other than a slight advantage in jump shooting accuracy and the obvious ammo advantage.

If you could choose more freely then some situations the m4s larger magazine would sometimes be worth while, but overall the A1 is the best, it's not much of a competition.

Even damage fall off is higher with the A4 over range than the a1, which makes no sense.
