CSA: Another point of view

Yes. Some geezer at work takes home £220 a week after the CSA had him over a barrel. No wonder guys are just upping sticks, jumping on a plane and make a new life elsewhere.

I really feel for you mate.

It must be depressing for you to be chasing circles like that.

CSA asks a company to pay up the company doesn't pay and it's your fault?

What kind of crazy law is that. Ultimately CSA's beef should be with the company once you can proove you have paid the company each month.

Basically you have to try to claim the unpaid amounts from a liquidated company?

OK,

I have been through this process myself and offer the following advice:

1. Contact NACSA, become a member and they will help you with your case:

http://www.nacsa.co.uk/

2. Confirm that you are paying the correct amount. For one child, your liability is 15% of your net salary.

3. Speak to your Ex and ask if she will consider opting out. In this way it is possible for the CSA to be used to calculate benefit only, but you pay her directly. You then get the CSA off your back and she gets her support on time - everyone wins.

Any further questions, please ask.

Well although employer has deducted wages, I'm not in the clear as the debt is with me, not my employer, the AoE was just an enforcement to make sure money got to them (which is wasn't)

Don't see how you can still be personally liable. The AoE legitimised your employer deducting the cash from your take home. The moment he's deducted it, he/the company become liable for it, not you

Who on earth manages these worthless bunch of knobs? I seem to hear nothing but disasterous stories regarding them. Surely if they are so inept then someone needs to intervene?

Ulitmately Gordon Brown and its unlikely he would do anything to intervene unless it involved him being able to get them to tax fathers more

It doesn't surprise me the CSA have not managed your case correctly, and they are now falling back on their default position of sticking their fingers in their ears, ignoring everything which has happened and chasing you for the debt (which they will)

No suprise here that the CSA are doing what they are doing, I have a good friend he got screwed by these, in the end he just went directly to his Ex and asked her to opt out - cost him his car and a house but she at least didnt want to take any more action with CSA
