CSS Low fps.

Thinking about this, I sincerely doubt that it's your PSU.
Surely if it was that rubbish, it would either work or not, and not cause low FPS in a game?

But surely the dude in OcUK knows what he's on about?

He said he had the cards running fine on 1.7GHz semprons!

Its running fine on yours too your just getting low FPS. If it was a PSU problem it would simple not work if it didnt have the power. This was the case with me when i had a P4 3ghz at stock although i was never that low. What resolution do you run at?

I can't see it running fine mate. I was getting the same 3DMARK03 scores as my 6600GT!

I ran it at a 1024 X 768 resolution... Everything on low... And please don't say that's correct otherwise I'll have to murder you :p

i was thinking of purchasing a new psu. im running a

3800+x2 @ 2.5ghz
2gig of ram
x1800xt 256mb.
im im getting about80fps.50fps in gunfire and also a very gittery game thats with running caseys sonfig. would it have something to do with my 350w gneric psu.??????

What do you get if you run everything on high? If you get roughly the same FPS then the CPU is bottlenecking it. I had a 6600GT too and my P4 3ghz was bottlenecking that at 1024x768

If you can try a higher resolution it should it could also show if the CPU is bottlenecking as the lower the resolution the more CPU dependant it becomes

On a side note your 7600GT consumes the same amount of power that a 6600GT does

Well, when I had my 7600GT in yesterday and played css, the fps rates stayed the same on low and high settings.

It also does this with my current 6600GT!

Then your more than likely CPU bottlenecked. What do you get in source video stress test?

Did you uninstall the drivers for the old card before you installed the new card?

Which Pentium 4 is the CPU? As there are a hell of a lot of them out there, and if it's a very old one, it could be contributing a little to bottlenecking.

If his previous card was a 6600GT it wont affect it but yes it is stilled recommended

Ok I've just done the CSS stress test. All settings on low BTW.... It came back and said that my average frame rates were 90.2 !!

I wish they were as high as that when I'm playing the game it's self !

As for my CPU it's a Prescott.

Now try it on High settings If i remember correctly my 6600GT and P4 630 (3ghz) got 80-100 on high settings. On my AMD opteron it got 122fps. Obviously without AA and AF :p

WTF.....!?!?!

This is scary.... On all high settings I'm getting 90FPS average in the CSS video stress test.... The resolution is @ 1024 X 768 BTW.

What the hell is going on.

But it's weird that the FPS is staying the same between low and high... Like on low you'd expect the FPS to go higher, and on high settings you'd expect it to go lower....

This also happens on WoW aswell where the FPS will stay the same on low and high....

So do you guys think it's my CPU thats bottleknecked... I wouldn't have thought a 6600GT would bottlekneck with a P4. ??

I hope to god I can put my 7600GT to some use.

As has been said have you got v sync off!

That will limit your fps to the refresh rate of the screen iirc.
