I am not sure if this is the place to put this or not but I am sure that it will be moved if it isnt.

I am new to the world of routers and was wondering if there was a way of increasing the speed on CCS as it runs just as fast with router as it did a USB modem.

Thanks

How do you mean just as fast? The network speed doesnt really have any bearing on how it runs (unless you are on narrow-band), thats down to your system. I think it only uses about 10kb/s up and down. Doesnt use much at all, considering you can run multiple games on multiple pcs at once from a household connection.

Technically you're wrong, but the latency on a LAN is normally far less than 1ms so you won't notice a difference.

But why not, whats the difference?

From what I remember the USB port is continually polled (read) by your CPU which wastes CPU time etc while the NIC works on an interrupt ie tells the CPU when it wants/has stuff.

Best explanation ever :D

usb relies too much on cpu to depend on it for network

stick to ethernet, -what do you mean by faster?

what pings do you get?
