Culinary nightmare

She's going to be a right bag of laughs in the sack. "Eww no, I'm allergic to this, I'm allergic to that..."

Surely there's better fish in the ocean?

Who said shes allergic? Could be just a really fussy eater that doesnt want to eat any "bad" things :p

If she's fussy about what she puts in her mouth then I'd call the date off right now.

Why not just skip dinner and go straight to the sex?

Or is she allergic to that too?

Bloody hope not! The amount of effort the OP is putting in to cook a meal for her while avoiding any actual food!

Could be worse she could have been a Vegan.
I went out with a vegan for nearly a year. She was a total PITA to cook for, but once ya got used to it, it was good fun trying to find something new to surprise her with... She was even surprisingly good about getting out of bed before me to make me bacon sandwiches to sort out my hangover.

For the OP: There's some fine options above here for you - but you really should have given yourself more time. Go and buy her some fruit pastilles for tonight and tell her you'll make her something nice next time.

How about a pasta with a nice source?

Don't go out and buy ragu or whatever you call that crap you can get in the shops, make your own.

I'm sure there are plenty of easy pasta source recipes on the net.

you can get wheat free pasta, but unless you know how to cook it, its not particularly nice. tehres a sorta 2 second gap between it being raw and soggy!!

Thanks for all your help guys, meal went well.

I found some Goat's butter in Waitrose that solved all my problems; was able to make all the sauces for the lamb. In the end I boiled some new potatoes for 10 minutes then diced and sauteed them with some Rosemary and Garlic for about 15 minutes, they were awesome. Found a summer fruit sorbet that went down well after the lamb.

Glad it went well for you :)

Is she Just Fussy or is she allergic?

Blah, blah, blah....

What we really want to know is whether or not you got laid? Or failing that, did she swallow everything?

Unless I'm cooking for myself, it's the only stuff I use.

It really depends what one you use - the corn-based stuff is generally crap and has the texture of trying to eat a brick.

The Free From/DS stuff you can pick up at Asda et cetera is pretty good.

It's the cost that gets on my norks. £3 for 500g of gluten-free pasta...Or £1 for 3Kg of normal Penne.
